Arts + Disability Expo 2015

The Arts + Disability Expo is a two-day event showcasing the products and services available for individuals in the arts and disability sector. Hosted by Accessible Arts, the Expo will be held in Sydney during September 2015. Featuring up to 50 exhibitors, interactive demonstrations, discussions and live performances, the Expo will inform individuals, groups and families on available choices enabling them to fully participate in the arts.

About Accessible Arts

As the peak arts and disability organisation in New South Wales, Australia for over twenty-five years, Accessible Arts advocates for inclusion, access and leadership opportunities for people with disability to actively participate in the arts.

Fostering access initiatives in partnership with the Arts, we aim to increase attendance by people with disability at galleries, theatres, museums and festivals.

We support the professional development of emerging and professional artists with disability across all art forms. Accessible Arts promotes equal opportunities in the visual and performing arts for people with disability, as participants in public programs, workshops, education and training.

Program

The Expo will feature live talks by the participating exhibitors from the Expo demonstration stage. Attendees will be treated to performances within the Expo, and the gallery space will feature works by artists with disability.

Who will attend?

With free entry, up to 500 attendees are expected across the two-day Expo, including Ability Linkers, NDIS planners, emerging and professional artists, students, members of the public, disability workers and arts workers. Representatives from local councils and governments will also be in attendance.

The Venue & Location

Carriageworks is the largest and most significant contemporary multi-arts centre of its kind in Australia and is housed in the old Eveleigh Rail Yards at Wilson Street, located within the emerging Redfern Waterloo precinct.

Carriageworks is an accessible venue and is located at 245 Wilson Street Eveleigh. The Cornerstone Bar & Food is in close proximity to the Expo and offers a range of share plates and daily specials. On Saturday 19 September, the Eveleigh markets will be in close walking distance to the Expo, allowing attendees to combine their Expo experience with local produce stalls.

Sponsor and Exhibitor Guidelines

•Exposure in the Expo publications is determined by confirmation of booking prior to design and print deadlines. To maximise exposure, please confirm your participation by the earliest date possible

•The Attendee list will exclude any Attendees who have withheld permission to publish their details in accordance with the Australian Privacy Act

•Public Liability Insurance is to be secured by each exhibitor

As the inaugural and exclusive event showcasing products and services that cater to the arts and disability sector, the expo provides a unique opportunity to address people with disability and their carers on accessing all forms of art.
