Class:Limited to 20 students. Please register early; class expected to fill quickly.

Registration Fee: $25.00 (includes, loaned brushes and one full sheet or Arches 140# watercolor paper)

Note:If you do not have the recommended supplies, for an addition $10.00 you will receive a small palette with the required paints(watercolor paper is supplied for all attendees)

This workshop is designed for artists with some painting experience, including those who have attended one of Bobbi’s previous beginner workshops. The morning’s focus will be on still lifes, and the afternoon on landscapes. Please bring some of your own still life objects (fruit, vegies, pottery, pine cones, flowers, leaves, plants, etc.) to paint from. For the afternoon session,bring landscape photos, preferable photos you have taken.

If you have your own watercolor materials you are encouraged to bring what you have. Please bring at least one yellow, one red, andone blue tube of watercolor paint, and several brushes.

A 1 inch flat brush is highly recommended. If you already have brushes, paints, and palette that you prefer to use, it is not necessary to pay the additional $10.00 supplies fee.

Recommended Supplies

  • Watercolor paper 140# or heavier (one 22 x 30 sheet of Arches will be provided)
  • Mounting board, such as foam core 16 X 24 or larger (can be found at Michael’s for $2.99)
  • Paint palette
  • Three brushes (approx. 1” flat, #4 round, #12 round – or a #6 or #8 would be fine)
  • Water containers
  • Paper towels
  • Masking tape or staples to secure paper to board
  • Pencil and eraser
  • Photos (taken by students or not protected by copyright; instructor can provide if needed)

Recommended Paint Colors

  • Cadmium Red (light or medium)
  • Cadmium Yellow (pale or medium)
  • Ultramarine Blue (not French Ultramarine)
  • Alizarin Crimson
  • Burnt Sienna
  • Hooker’s Green

Optional Paint Colors

  • Burnt Umber
  • Cerulean Blue
  • Another green, such as Phthalo or Sap Green
  • Violet
  • Alizarin Crimson
  • Yellow ochre or raw sienna

Spokane Art Supply offer a “Teachers’ Choice Palette” that is filledwith 14 colors of Graham paint, and three brushes are included. One of the brushes and some of the paint colors do not match the supply list recommendations, but would be adequate for the class.
