Spiritual Revival Launch Team

Present: Bishop Gary Mueller, Bud Reeves, Charles Long, Mary Jane Cole

During this initial gathering, we began discussion of potential goals and outcomes for the “Experiencing Spiritual Revival” Launch Team. We asked the following questions and made the following observations:

·  How do we identify measurable outcomes?

·  This is challenging yet hopeful work for this particular team as spiritual revival is truly the work of the Holy Spirit.

·  How do we promote and encourage the care of the soul?

·  Input vs. Outcome:

o  Passion and commitment in people’s hearts

o  Stories of spiritual revival and renewal throughout our conference

o  Spiritual practices or disciplines that engage people in a sense of revival for their love of Jesus.

·  In general – where do we begin?

Therefore, our discussion centered on the need to engage in our own spiritual work or time of discernment as a team and as individual team members. It is a discernment process – perhaps we engage in spiritual disciplines and intentional time of focused prayer asking: “What does God need or want us to do to generate experiences of spiritual revival?”

Next Step:

·  Bishop Mueller will convene our next gathering possibly before Easter.
