The Word of God

1. Definition –

A. Illustration  Ministry likened to drawing water from a well (pure, cold, clean water) and dispensing of that water to those who need it… ie. God’s People.

1. Dispense it into whatever containers they bring

2. Sometimes the line gets long

A. The line gets long… and in a hurry to serve you don’t continue to draw water from the well…

B. You end up going through the motions of dispensing water but there is actually no water being dispensed… only the motions are taking place.

3. The key is maintaining a vibrant ______through the well of His Word

23 Thus says the LORD, " Let not a wise man boast of his wisdom, and let not the mighty man boast of his might, let not a rich man boast of his riches; 24 but let him who boasts boast of this, that he understands and knows Me, that I am the LORD who exercises lovingkindness, justice and righteousness on earth; for I delight in these things," declares the LORD. Jeremiah 9:23-24

7 But whatever things were gain to me, those things I have counted as loss for the sake of Christ. 8 More than that, I count all things to be loss in view of the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them but rubbish so that I may gain Christ, 9 and may be found in Him, not having a righteousness of my own derived from the Law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which comes from God on the basis of faith, 10 that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death; 11 in order that I may attain to the resurrection from the dead.” Philippians 3:7-11
