First Grade Weekly Newsletter

Week of August 22-26, 2016

Dear Parents,

Our weekly newsletter will keep you informed of our topics of study and skills taught in class. First grade classes will have homework every week on Mondays through Thursdays. Your child will be tested in Reading, Spelling, Math, Science and Social Studies each week. Our Friday Reading and Math tests will come directly from the skills that are on each night’s homework sheet. Our Friday Social Studies and Science tests will come from the information listed at the bottom of the weekly sheet. The tests will be read to your child at the beginning of the year. Later in the year, your child will read all tests on his/her own. Please help your child with homework and carefully go over the skills on the newsletter nightly. Be sure to read every day! With a little work each night, your favorite first grader should do well on all weekly tests. Class work and tests will be graded and sent home on Mondays in your child’s red signed paper folder.
