Speaking Assessment: Unit 1, Lesson 1 (20 points Value)

Date: Tuesday, December 11th.

Students should be able to greet me and introduce themselves. They should be able to say where they are from and say what they like and dislike. They should be able to answer questions about where they are from, about their name, and what they like or dislike.

1. Assessment:

10 points

Students will come up individually to speak in Spanish. Each student’s speaking assessment will be recorded for grading purposes. Students should be able to talk in Spanish for approximately 20-30 seconds and deliver a few coherent sentences including details relating the first chapter and the preliminary unit. The student should be able to say hello and tell me about himself/herself. I want to know about who you are (boy, girl, woman, man, student, teacher), you are from, and you like to do and do not like to do. Don’t forget to say goodbye.

2, Assessment

5 questions (2 points each)

Students will be given some pictures with prompts to tell me information about the pictures. The teacher will ask questions about the pictures and the students must respond in Spanish. They should be prepared to talk about where the people are from, who they are (boys, girls, men, women, teachers, students, etc.), give their names, and they should be able to tell me about their likes and dislikes. This information should be able to be expressed in full sentences in Spanish.
