Bob Adams
Bob is retired from 26 years in radio & television broadcasting, and 13 years as a college professor. He is a past President in an online club and a local investment club. He serves as a volunteer for InvestEd Inc., a non-profit investor education organization; served on the BetterInvesting Computer Group Advisory Board from 1999 through 2006; has been a Director on the Board of the Puget Sound Chapter of Better Investing since 1994. Gary Ball
Gary has been an individual investor for over 40 years. He has been affiliated with the BetterInvesting organization (NAIC) since 1984. He served as President of the Puget Sound Chapter of BetterInvesting from 1999 until 2002 and was a Director on the NIA Board from 1994 until 2006. In 2007 he was elected as a National Director for BetterInvesting.
He has taught BetterInvesting tools at investment seminars in the northwest for nearly 30 years and has been a seminar presenter every year since 1991 at BetterInvesting national conventions. He has been featured in Smart Money,Consumers Digest and Fortune magazines.
In 1998 he retired as Manager of Investor Relations for Fluke Corporation, an electronics company in Everett, Washington. Prior to that, he held various engineering management positions within the company.
He has served on the adjunct faculty at the University of Washington and taught investment classes in the business school. Gary holds a Master’s degree in electrical engineering.
Karen Blanton
Karen Blanton is a well-known financial educator providing strategic financial workshops in the Willamette Valley area for over 22 years. Karen graduated with a bachelor degree in business administration and went on to complete studies that earned her the title of Certified Annuity Counselor and Long Term Care Counselor. She is on the National Registry of Elder Planning Advisors, and is a long-standing member of NAPA and LUTC. She continues to provide financial and estate client services to the AAA clients of Oregon. Karen is the principal owner of Premier Senior Services and has been assisting Oregon investors since 1982.

Marcia has been a contract writer and trainer for the high-tech, medical, and financial industries for over 30 years and a Director for the Southern California-based GoldenWest Chapter of BetterInvesting for more than 10 years. She taught BI workshops for Toolkit SSGs and Portfolio Management, and conducted numerous Portfolio Reviews for local BI investment clubs. Bob Smith is a retired CPA, having practiced for 40 years in Portland, Oregon. His clients were family-owned businesses and their owners. Services provided included audit, income taxes, estate planning. He was always adamant about the importance of retirement planning, funding, and diversification.
Bob has been a member of the Centennial Stock Club in Gresham since the late 1970’s, and has been an advocate of the BetterInvesting methodology and of taking charge of your own investment activities.
In his retirement Bob serves as a Director and Co-President of the Portland Chapter of Better Investing. Other retirement activities include serving on Boards of several non-profit organization and is active with the Toastmasters organization.

Kathleen (Kamie) Zaracki is the chief executive officer of NAIC’s BetterInvesting.
