Administration

¨  Confirm your participation in SJSU Online by Thursday, December 20 to Jessica Gonzalez ( or 408.924.2742).

¨  Attend an informational session (optional): Tuesday, December 11, in the CIES Conference Room 10am-11:30am or Wednesday, December 12, online (Blackboard Collaborate session: http://elm.elluminate.com:80/HOSTEDSJSU/join_meeting.html?meetingId=1247980849043), 10am-11:30am.

¨  Complete the Class Section Add Form* and turn in to your Department Coordinator to collect the appropriate signatures (Department Chair and College Dean). Once all signatures have been collected, please fax the completed form to CIES 408.924.2666, no later than Friday, February 7.

¨  Complete the Instruction Appointment Form* and turn in to your Department Coordinator to collect the appropriate signatures (Department Chair and College Dean) and fax completed Instructional Appointment Forms to Faculty Affairs, 408.924.2425 no later than Friday, February 7.

Course Design and Development

¨  Email a copy of your course syllabus to Jessica Gonzalez () by Monday, February 3.

¨  Develop your course in the Learning Management System (LMS). Note that your course shell in the LMS will be available once the course and instruction administration forms have been approved and processed. In the meantime, you may use your practice shells for course development.

¨  Attend one of the workshops with Dr. Jennifer Redd for assistance in getting your course online in the LMS and meeting the online course standards (refer to the Online Course Evaluation Rubric): the first session will be Friday, January 24, 10:30-11:30AM in CL 118. Information on additional sessions will be posted in January.

¨  Make sure that your course(s) has been “published” in the LMS by Monday, March 4. Instructions on how to publish your course can be found on the eCampus Faculty Resource Page.

¨  Do a review of your course to ensure that it meets effective or exemplary practices (refer to the Online Course Evaluation Rubric) prior to the session start (by Thursday, February 14) and mid-way through the session (by Tuesday, April 9).

*Your department coordinator can also assist you in completing the form if you are unsure about certain information.
