INFORMATION FOR CANDIDATES

You will hear all recordings twice. Write your answers in ENGLISH. Your answers need not be in complete sentences. At the end of this test, there will be a pause of five minutes before the start of the test at Extended Level. You are reminded that once the test has begun, the tape will not be stopped. You should therefore inform the invigilator during the first recorded words if you have any difficulty in hearing the recording.

The number of marks available is shown in brackets [ ] at the end of each question.

SECTION A

In this section you will hear ten different statements or questions in SPANISH. Listen carefully to each statement or question. Then, after each one, answer the questions which follow. You must answer briefly in ENGLISH. You will hear each statement twice. There will be a short pause after each one.

1.You are spending your summer holiday with a Spanish friend at his apartment in Seville. When he meets you at the airport, he offers you something. What does he offer you?
