Examples:basic commands, classroom objects, cognates

  • Using the target language in oral and written form in the present time frame, including salutations, farewells, expressions of courtesy, likes, dislikes, feelings, emotions, agreement, disagreement, requests, descriptions, sequenced information, and cultural references where appropriate to interact in a variety of situations
  • Responding to basic instructions and questions

OBJECTIVES

Students speak in Spanish

Students read in Spanish

Students recognize conjugated verbs in a reading passage

FOCUS AND MOTIVATE

Read two student accounts about their favorite classes and future plans

TEACH

Re-teach cognates and ‘ar’ verb conjugation (to prepare students to read in Spanish)

Facilitate pronunciation lab (have students read aloud the passage.)

Facilitate paragraph writing lab about students’ favorite clases and verb usage.

Students have been assigned a project entitled “El dia de los muertos”, so as time permits, I will facilitate workshop on student project presentations.

IEP Modificationpair with capable students, allow partial answers; one-to-one assistance when feasible.
