Salary:$80-$100k (preferred$80k)

Notes from Kickoff Discussion: This search is based on experience needed rather than job description. The hiring manager is seeking a profile, rather than specific skills, and will consider individuals from any industry so long as they are highly motivated, have nonprofit experience, and have been exposed to the landscape of public health related issues in Africa. This role is considered to be executive level, work analogous to that of a deputy country director, seniority akin to COO.

Company: / This is a fast-growing organization dedicated to furthering accreditation for laboratory services throughout Africa. Since its inception in 2011, the organization has grown to operate in 16 countries and plans to enter three more within the next year.
Opportunity (service area, strategic priorities/challenges, etc.) / The Director of Programs will be one of 2 executives working below the CEO. The small leadership team will oversee all reporting structures.
This will be a “hands-on” position and does not require a science/technical background. The position demands strong project management skills and someone open to learning about the domain. Strong communication skills will allow for the selling of this organization to partners and stakeholders, even though development will not be a focus of the position.
MBA/Consulting skills will be essential: pick-up domain, contribute cross-functionally with Finance/Admin. Wants someone who has developed budgets, maintained projects to timelines, some HR exposure, etc. to generally maintain high quality of work and update status of work
