SOP for USA trade of Hamburg Süd. (Including ASUS/UPAS/ECAS/APNE)

1.  About BILL TYPE

Seaway bill or telex release is allowed for all shipments export to U.S.A/ Canada if LOI is provided.

Seaway bill is not allowed to change CNEE.

Seaway bill is not allowed to change to original bill.

“TO ORDER” bill is not allowed to issue Seaway or telex released.

2.  About AMS

a)  For real shipper/CNEE/Notify, detail Address/Telephone/Post code is required.

b)  For Auto NVOCC, SCAC code and LOI is required.

c)  For house bill send by Hamburg Süd, we need client to submit the ESI which add “H” end of booking no. (e.g. 5SHAUP1000H) and within real shipper/CNEE/Notify, detail Address/Telephone/Post.

d)  We will send AMS one day after the cut-off time, which has enough time for client to send ISF.

3.  About Regulation & Standard for US Trade

a)  Do not allow show “SAME AS CNEE” in NOTIFY

b)  Do not allow use “PALLET/SET/CRATE” as unit for cargo items.

c)  Do not allow show SOLID in ‘NO WOOD PACKING MATERIALS’

d)  Do not allow use C/O or DBA in CNEE, it will cause the proprietaries.

e)  Do not allow show “Free detention/ Free days” in D.O.G.

f)  Do not allow show “.” or blank in D.O.G, or there is a high risk to HOLD ON POL by U.S custom.

g)  Do not allow show “Clean on board” in D.O.G.

h)  Remember to add Name Account (you booked with) in D.O.G, or we will use FAK rate on your shipment.

i)  HS CODE is absolutely required in ESI.

4.  About Amendment Fee and AMS Surcharge

Regular AMS charge is $35.00 per bill.

If house bill is send by HSD, house bill quantities multiply $35.00.

Correction charge is $40.00 for AMS plus ￥500 manifest amendment fee.

For change seal no. by inspection after sending AMS, ￥500 will collect on client’s account.

5.  About FROB cargo to Canada

If the carrier vessel has changed discharge port order to call on Canada first, Hamburg Süd will file the ACI with Canada custom on Master bills. And there is no necessary to send house bills by client themselves due to it is FROB.

6.  About Voyage difference

Please send ISF/ house bills in the voyage which use for customs clearance. The different voyage shows on B/L is used for HSD interior only.

7.  About Penalty from USA custom

$5000.00 to 175% value of the cargoes depends on USA custom. If occurred, debit note of penalty will sent to your account next year from USA custom.
