SOLICITING AND SELLING
Agents, salespersons, and solicitors are prohibited to approach students or teachers at school without written permission from the Superintendent’s office and/or the principal of the school. Other visitors of non-selling interest shall conduct their business with or through the office of the principal or at other than school hours.
No board employee may distribute, or cause to be distributed, any promotional materials, products or services on board property to other board employees or pupils when such acts are for the purpose of personal financial gain without complying with board policy. Further, employees are prohibited from using their position influence to sell products or services for personal financial gain to parents and/or pupils within their respective geographic area(s) of job assignment(s).
The purpose of this policy is to prevent any conflict of interest between employment obligations and personal interests. It is not intended to prohibit board employees from engaging in other outside business or other personal interests so long as such outside businesses or interests do not adversely affect the time or ability of such employee to properly, appropriately and fully comply with contractual duties with the board.
Board property (offices, phones, equipment, etc) shall not be used for such personal business or interests.
