Welcome everyone to our Christmas party. Thank you for your continued support to bring West Coast Swing to Essex!
So what’s new for 2018?!
We will continue our monthly workshops with Mike Rosa on the first Sunday of the month, so the first one to put in your diary is Sunday 7th January!!
We are continually trying to adapt our Workshops to accommodate everyone who walks through our doors, from Beginners to more advanced WCS dancers.
Next year we are rolling out a new format which we feel will work better for us and you!! Jez and I are in discussion with Mike Rosa and are putting together with Mike a Workshop programme which covers all manner of things we would like to learn and embrace at our monthly workshops, so any input from you guys….now’s your chance!! The programme will be published before our first workshop in January and it will set out what the theme is for each month, so that way you can pick and choose which workshops you would like to attend and hopefully you will want to attend them all or most of them, as they are going to follow a progressive theme throughout the year, building each month on what we have already learnt and practiced lol! We hope this will appeal to more established WCS dancers
Also, we realise the importance of attracting new Beginners to our group and there will be a Beginners class each month which we hope everyone will support to help the newbies along. This however, will be shorter in length than in previous workshops as we recognise when you are new to WCS brain overload happens within the first hour!
To help our Beginners and Beginners +/Improvers along Jez and I are now scheduling a regular monthly WCS practice session on the third Saturday of each month starting in January at 10.15 am to 12.30pm. at Great Easton village hall, Dunmow Essex. We recognise that unless we offer a practice
session in between workshops it is going to be difficult for people to progress beyond the basics.
We are also re-introducing the TEA Dance element of our Sunday afternoons at Stock and this will run from 4pm to 6pm’ish, so if anyone is unable to make the workshop but would like to join us for dancing please join us. Again the TEA Dance is open to any slotted dance style.
As a pre –christmas bonanza Westies in Essex are offering a three month workshop deal: January, February and March workshop for just £45 payable by 24th December. Unfortunately this offer is fixed so no dates are transferable to a later workshop. Alternatively you can pay £20 per workshop
5* POTTERS 2018!! Hopton on Sea, Norfolk Our Intimate WCS chilled Dance weekend – 4th year now!
We are nearing capacity, just 30 places left for this year at the moment and only two night breaks available now. It’s an intimate chilled weekend. Workshop classes are small. It’s £250 per person, Full Board in Bungalow Plus Accommodation suitable for two people. The price also includes all our WCS workshops which are levelled Beginners to Advanced, WCS social dancing and Potters’s live entertainment, activities and dance workshops and use of their fabulous facilities. Kevin and Aggie Town, who are rising WCS stars and former Jive Champions have recently competed in the US Open and Coleen Man, again a rising star on the WCS European Circuit are teaching for us. We may also be taking Mike Rosa along too tbc! So! Get in there and book!!
Finally!! My biggest thanks goes to Mike Rosa for his ongoing support to our group and fabulous workshops…Mike gives us 100 per cent always! And! JEZ! If only you knew guys how much support he gives me. Jez loves his Jive but knows how much I want to make a success of this group! Thank you darling! And a mention also to my ‘invisible’ helpers and you guys for supporting us. Let’s get West Coast Swing on the map in Essex!!
