SNAP-Ed Interactive Mapping Tool
This interactive mapping tool was developed for SNAP-Ed contractors and our partners to aid in planning for FFY16 https://fortress.wa.gov/doh/eh/maps/SNAP/index.html
What the tool can do for you:
· Verify if a specific site or address is within a qualified census tract.
· Review where current SNAP-Ed sites are located in relationship to low income population (≤185% Federal Poverty Level). Decide if SNAP-Ed sites are near the SNAP eligible population or if site locations need to be reevaluated.
· Look at where potential partners (CSOs, food banks, and schools) are located in comparison to qualified census tracts and/or your current qualified SNAP-Ed locations.
How to use the tool:
· Under “More Data” – check the check-box for the data source that you want to look at.
o The arrow to the left of each data source can be clicked to reveal additional data options.
o When you are done looking at a set of data and don’t want it to show anymore, uncheck the box.
It is recommended you start with very little data and add layers one at a time as you review the mapping.
· Gray – This shows census tracts only (no roads etc.) using color shading to indicate the % of population <185% FPL.
· Aerial – Census tract shading + mountains etc.
· Streets – Census tracts shading + roads etc.
· Enter address- This search feature at the top right of the mapping can be used to look up an address in Washington state.
· Zoom in and out with mouse or using the zoom feature to the left of the screen.
· Printing – You can print you screen any time at the top of the mapping and you can export maps as well.

· Data sources are not all current (see below). Some of the data current data was supplied by the SNAP-Ed program and our partners. Other data is collected and stored at http://giswebq/gis/gis_dac.htm
