Inclusion North operates a Care and Treatment Review (CTR) ‘hub’ which provides Expert Advisers and Clinical Advisers to Care and Treatment Reviews (and Care, Education and Treatment Reviews) across Yorkshire and Humber and the North East.
The hub recruits, trains and supports people to take on the role of Expert Adviser and Clinical Adviser within CTRs organised by local area commissioners. Our team of advisers are made up of people with a learning disability, family carers and professionals with relevant experience.
Our aim is to develop the Hub to provide experts with lived experience to support Local Authorities, Clinical Commissioning Groups and other stakeholders to support co-production across all aspects of service development that affect people with a learning disability.
The post holder will have a key role in supporting this development.
Job Description
Job Title: / Project Support Coordinator (CTR Hub)
Location / Home based with the ability to travel regularly to the Leeds office, and across the North East, Yorkshire and Humber
Salary: / £30,000 - £32,000 (pro rata)
Accountable to: / Project Manager
Responsible for: / This post is primarily responsible for supporting and developing the Care and Treatment Review Hub, but contributing to Inclusion North’s wider workwill also be required. This mayincludeworking on a range of projects with our members and other customers. Most work will be within the North East and Yorkshire and Humber regions, but from time to time national working may also be required.
Hours of work: / 18½ hours a week
Other terms of employment / There is a statutory pension scheme with up to 6% matched contributions.
Holiday entitlement is 27 days plus Statutory Holidays pro rata
Role Summary
  • To support and develop Inclusion North’s CTR Hub
  • To support Inclusion North in delivering projects, training and other services to members and customers
  • To directly support the inclusion of people with a learning disability, family members and others in projects Inclusion North is delivering
  • To contribute to Inclusion North, adding significant value to the efforts of people with a learning disability, their families, local commissioners and providers in implementing government policy, and best practice to achieve inclusion.

Key responsibilities
Within the CTR Hub:
  • Recruitment, training, supervision and support of Expert Advisers and Clinical Advisers who will undertake the Care and Treatment Reviews (CTRs). This will include pastoral supporton a regular basis.
  • Work to the quality standards that are outlined inNHS England’s CTR Policy, CTR Code and Toolkit, and ensure that these are implemented by Advisers
  • To build positive relationships with CTR Advisers and with local commissioners who request Advisers for CTRs, including dealing with any concerns or complaints
  • To ensure that CTR Advisers are kept up to date with changes in policy
  • Develop and facilitateappropriate training to ensure the knowledge, skills and experience of the CTR Advisers remains up to date and contributes to a high standard of performance within the CTR process
  • Undertake a range of tasks to develop and expand the Hub in response to need identified by stakeholders
  • Maintain the agreed standards for the work of the Hub and Inclusion North projects and ensure regular reports on progress and performance (including proposals for any budget shortfalls) are made to the Project Manager or Chief Executive or external commissioner.

To support Inclusion North’s work with members and other customers:
  • Facilitate networks, groups or training sessions for members or others
  • Support Project Managers and other Project Support Coordinators to deliver Inclusion North projects
  • To model solution focused, asset based, and collaborative ways of working
  • To work closely with local leaders including those responsible for the implementation of relevant policy that affects people with a learning disability and their families
  • To maintainrobust positive relationshipswithstakeholders, including Lead Officers and organisations of people with a learning disability and family carers
  • To work with Project Managers and the Office Manager to ensure good financial control of projects including regular reporting
  • Work with members to ensure their ongoing subscription, and exploreadditional sources of income including grants and commissions.
  • Contribute to regular communication with stakeholders, including marketing and publicity.
  • Work with the project team and others to ensure Inclusion North can support capacity building within other people and organizations within the region to take on innovations developed by Inclusion North

General
  • Keep informed of all changes and developments in legislation and other Government initiatives, practice, regional and national resources and other related issues, which have implications for people with a learning disability and their families
  • Conduct all dealings of a professional nature in such a way as to promote Inclusion North’s values
  • Ensure that any complaints made to Inclusion North are appropriately and sensitively considered and wherever possible informally resolved and appropriately report any complaints to the Project Manager or Chief Executive
  • Ensure the health and safety of employees of Inclusion North’s Projects and members of the public as specified by the Health and Safety at Work Act
  • Ensure that practices and procedures within Inclusion North are compliant with all relevant legislation, with particular regard to the Equality Act 2010

  • In-depth understanding of the principles and practice of inclusion, and the ability to embed the values of inclusion in your work
  • An understanding of good practice in co-production, and an ability to bring this into your work
  • Creative problem solving, project planning and service development skills
  • A good working knowledge of the legislation and recent policy guidance governing people with a learning disability and any implications for service delivery
  • Ability to prepare clear documents, reports and presentations using plain English, supported by pictures
  • Proven ability to develop and facilitate inclusive training to motivate, support, empower and develop individuals and teams

Ability to work closely with all relevant organisations and partners to deliver services to people with a learning disability and their families

Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to effectively employ negotiating skills

About Inclusion North

Inclusion North was established in 2005 as a not for profit membership organisation to promote inclusion for people with a Learning Disability. The Local Authorities across Yorkshire, Humber and the North East are our members, along with some Clinical Commissioning Groups.

In November 2008 Inclusion North became a not for profit Community Interest Company.

A group of Directors made up of people with a learning disability, family carers and professionals oversee the organisation. They are supported by an Advisory Council.

Inclusion North employs 9 core staff, a number of sessional Expert Advisers, some temporary staff anda number of volunteers who support us during the year.

Inclusion North works to promote the inclusion of people with a learning disability in all areas of mainstream life. We do this by:

Having a criminal record will not necessarily prevent applicants from working for Inclusion North.
