Small Grant Application
Fullabrook CIC exists to administer Community Benefit Funding derived from the Fullabrook Wind Farm Development. If your Voluntary or Community Group needs funding for a project or service that benefits the local community, we have 3 levels of grant funding available that may be able to support you. This application is for a Small grant, up to £1,000. If you require a different level of funding, please return to our website www.fullabrook-cic.org
Our website should be able to answer most of your questions, but if you would like to speak to us please email for support.
1 What we can fund
1.1 Projects or services that show community benefit to residents within 5km of a turbine in the Fullabrook Wind Farm, or of the 13 parishes in our catchment area (Ashford, Berrynarbor, Bittadon, Braunton, East Down, Georgeham, Heanton Punchardon, Ilfracombe, Marwood, Mortehoe, Shirwell, West Down, and West Pilton).
1.2 Organisations with not-for-profit aims, a constitution, and a bank account in it’s own name.
1.3 We generally prefer to fund capital cost and rarely fund salaries or running costs unless in exceptional circumstances. We may also consider applications for repayable grants or loans.
2 What we are unlikely to fund
2.1 Projects or services that cannot evidence significant benefit to the community of the 13 parishes within our catchment.
2.2 For personal benefit of an individual, eg adventure or residential courses, expeditions etc.
2.3 Animal welfare projects.
2.4 Large or national charities which enjoy widespread support.
2.5 Applicants who have successfully applied to us within the last 12 months.
2.6 Endowment funds or donations.
2.7 Activity that supports services that are the statutory responsibility of another organisation.
2.8 Activities that promote religious or political beliefs.
3 The Application Process
3.1 Ensure your organisation/project are eligible for our grants. If you are not sure contact us.
3.2 Determine the costs for your project, and obtain a quote, then decide which grant you would like to apply for – a Very Small Grant (up to £250), a Small Grant (Up to £1,000) or a Main Grant (over £1,000). The supporting documents required are different for each level of grant.
3.3 Send your completed application, with the supporting documents to If you are unable to email your application, you can post it to Fullabrook CIC, 2 Whitefield Villas, Muddiford, EX31 4HA, but we would prefer to receive it by email if possible.
3.4 Receipt of your grant application will be acknowledged by our administrator, and if it passes our initial criteria, will then be presented to the Directors of the CIC for their consideration. We aim to contact you again within 8 weeks.
3.5 If your application for funding is successful, you will be expected to sign and return a copy of our Terms and Conditions. We will require further information from you before payment of your grant. You must not start your project until we have received, checked and approved the information you send us and you have received a letter from us confirming the grant. and may be asked to provide additional information before we make a payment to you.
3.6 We expect that your project will be completed and the money spent within 12 months of the offer. If the project takes longer than this, interim progress reports will be required.
3.7 You will be expected to send us photographs of the completed project and/or your beneficiaries.
3.8 We will provide you with a plaque, sticker or electronic logo with which to acknowledge the support of Fullabrook CIC, which we will expect you to display, and to acknowledge us in any publicity.
4 How we assess applications
4.1 We will take into account the number and nature of the groups of people likely to be benefit from the grant. We generally favour applications that will give the highest value for money – i.e. have an impact on the largest number of people for the amount spent.
4.2 We favour projects that can show sustainability beyond the support of the CIC. Grants should be considered as one-off payments, and there should be no expectation of repeat funding.
4.3 We are unlikely to fund 100% of the cost of a project, and applications with match funding will be more favourably received. Match funding can come from your own reserves, fundraising activities or other grants.
4.4 The CIC supports and encourages equal opportunity and diversity. We welcome applications from all sections of the community, and expect similar standards from those we support.
4.5 If your project involves children, young people or adults at risk of abuse, you should evidence that your organisation complies with current safeguarding legislation, and include a copy of your safeguarding policy to support your application.
5 Supporting information that you should submit with a Small Grant Application
5.1 A copy of your constitution.
5.2 A quote for the item or works that you want to buy, or an income and expenditure budget and/or a cash flow statement for the proposed project.

5.4 Your most recent full accounts (and annual report if this is separate).
