Slide 3 - Oracle Project Portfolio Management Cloud Release 10
Slide notes
Hello, my name is Ruth. Welcome to training for Release 10. In this session we'll talk about what's new in Oracle Project Portfolio Management Cloud for Project Execution Reporting in Release 10.

Slide 4 - Agenda
Slide notes
For the enhancements covered in this training, we’ll give an overview, followed by more detail to explain how you can use them, and what business value they add.
Then we’ll walk you through a demonstration.
Next we’ll explain what you need to consider before enabling these features for your business, and how you can set them up.

Slide 5 - Enhancements Overview
Slide notes
We’ve included three new subject areas to analyze in Oracle Transaction Business Intelligence (or for short, OTBI). We’ve also added 20 new sample reports for the new and existing subject areas in OTBI. With these new features, you’ll have better coverage of key business areas and sample reports that you can use right out of the box, or use as guidelines in building your own reports.
If you have used OTBI in past releases, you may recall that the data queried here is in real time. There is no time lag between what you see in the application and what is available in OTBI. The data is the same in BOTH places, though OTBI performs calculations on data that you won't see in the application.

Slide 6 - Analyze Tasks Using Oracle Transactional Business Intelligence
Slide notes
The OTBI Task Management Real Time subject area allows task owners and creators to view all their tasks at a single location. For example, they can view project tasks, milestones, to-do tasks, and action items. The predefined metrics that inform you about the due dates for your deliverables are particularly useful. For example, you can list all the tasks you own and know precisely in how many days they are due.
As seen in this screen capture, you can open each folder to view the fields available to add to a report. For example, under the Project folder, you can add project details such as project description, status, and project start and finish dates.
Notes
Slide 7 - Analyze Project Resources Using Oracle Transactional Business Intelligence
Slide notes
The Project Resource Real Time subject area allows project managers to analyze the resources allocated to their projects. For example, using this subject area, you can directly query your current month's allocation of resources (both labor and expense). Interested in finding the weighted opportunity allocation hours for project resources? You can find it here in this subject area as well.
In the demonstration that follows, we’ll have a look at the different project resource measures that can be added to reports.
Notes
Slide 8 - Analyze Project Work Items Using Oracle Transactional Business Intelligence
Slide notes
The Project Work Items Real Time subject area allows project managers to view all the work items in their projects. These work items include business objects such as concepts, proposals, and requirement specifications sourced from Oracle Fusion Innovation Management, as well as project deliverables. We’ve included some predefined measures to give you precise work item counts. These counts are also available in time buckets such as due this week or due last week.
Notes
Slide 9 - 20 New Sample Reports
Slide notes
We’ve provided several sample reports per subject area to highlight the various ways in which you might want to analyze your data. The reports include filters to help you filter large volumes of data and narrow down the data to suit your needs. You can look at the sample reports to see if you can use them as-is, before considering any customization. There should be many that you can use straight away without any customization.
Out of the 20 new reports, we'll show you some of the key reports.
Here is an example of one of the 20 new reports. You can specify the project name, resource name, and allocation date range using the filters at the top. In the actual report below, you can view the allocated hours, task assignment hours, and percentage of task assignment hours to the allocated hours for all the weeks in the date range.

Slide 10 - Project Execution Reporting
Slide notes
If you prefer to query data directly using a transaction reporting tool instead of the application regions, the business value is tremendous. You can create and view your own analyses. You can use the sample reports as delivered or speed up the implementation process by customizing the sample reports to suit specific needs. Finally, a number of predefined measures are provided that focus on the most likely time-sensitive data that you would want to view. You won’t have to spend time trying to create formulas or calculation for this data when reporting – they are already delivered and ready to use.

Slide 55 - Summary of Enhancement Capabilities
Slide notes
Here is a summary of the Release 10 enhancements that I have talked about today:
First, we provide functionality for the user to perform real-time reporting on all tasks. For example, a team member can create a report that consolidates all assigned project tasks, personal to do tasks, and action items due over the next two weeks.
Second, we also provide a subject area in OTBI for users to report on project resources as a fact. The fact will contain information such as resources on a specific project and across projects. In addition, provide dimensions for reporting on the fact such as resource class, resource assignment status, and project role.
Third, we allow the project managers to perform real-time reporting on all work items associated with project tasks. For example, a project manager can create a report that consolidates all work items associated with their projects. Additionally, project managers can create reports for all deliverables that are the past due date.
And finally, we are delivering 20 sample reports that users can use or copy to report on all the subject areas for Project Execution.

Slide 56 - Implementation Advice
Slide notes
In this implementation advice section we will go through what you need to consider before enabling these features in your business, and what you need to know to set them up.
Notes
Slide 57 - Feature Impact Guidelines
Slide notes
All of these features for the new OTBI subject areas are automatically available to the user, and are included with the shipped job roles. You can use these features right out of the box as there is no set up required.
Notes
Slide 58 - Feature Impact Guidelines (Sample Reports)
Slide notes
We have six features that cover the sample reports. All are automatically available, and shipped right out of the box.

Here are the other two features that deal with the sample reports.

Slide 60 - Job Roles
Slide notes
This table details the shipped job roles that will access the new capabilities covered in this training. There are only two shipped job roles that access the new subject areas. As the 20 delivered sample reports are associated to a variety of subject areas, they will be accessible to the shipped job role that has access to the associated subject area. For example, to access the Resource Management related reports, you’ll need the Resource Manager job role. For the Project Hierarchy sample reports, you will need Project Executive role.

For the four remaining features that cover the other sample reports, you can view the roles that are required to access those features.

Slide 62 - Business Process Model Information I
Slide notes
The enhancements to Project Execution reporting impact four high-level business processes. First business process affected is the Execute Project for the Task Management activities. The second business process is the Plan Project. These would be for activities overseen by the project manager for project resource allocation and project plan tasks

Slide notes
The other two high level business processes that are impacted by the enhancements to Project Execution Reporting are Manage Project Resources for viewing the resource allocation data, and Analyze Project Management Performance for viewing the project hierarchy details.
