Night Technician Position

Enthusiastic full time permanent night shift sleep technician required to work at both of our sleep laboratories at Warners Bay Private Hospital and Maitland Private Hospital (in the Hunter Valley – Newcastle-Lake Macquarie). Experience preferred though training is provided. A background in healthcare and/or IT is an advantage. Above award rates of pay, and educational opportunities provided.

Skills Required

Effective communication – the ability to communicate well with patients, carers and relatives, the nursing and hospital team and Sleep Medicine teams of staff members.

Patient care experience – you will be setting patients up with recording equipment

Customer service – excellence in putting the patient first and at the centre of all that you do, possessing empathy

Computer literacy – ability to use various computer systems, medical and technical software programs and have your own email account for communication

Ability to follow direction– adhere to policy and procedure and attend regular meetings to remain updated with the organisation.

Ability to work alone and troubleshoot problems – though supported by nursing staff on night shift and a technical manager on call you will work alone once trained.

Having an eye for detail and being well organised

Shift 7.30pm to 7.30am

Seven nights per week roster though preferences for particular nights considered and provided when possible.

Some day hours within the 38 hours per week to attend compulsory education and meetings is a requirement of employment

First aid certificate required – training provided for same.

Day Technician Position

Enthusiastic full time permanent day shift sleep technician required to work at both of our sleep laboratories at Warners Bay Private Hospital and Maitland Private Hospital, and also our clinics(in the Hunter Valley – Newcastle-Lake Macquarie). Past experience as a night technician or working in the area of sleep scoring or in CPAP clinics preferred though specific training is provided. Experience in patient education/teaching an advantage. Above award rates of pay, and educational opportunities provided.

Customer service – excellence in putting the patient first and at the centre of all that you do, possessing empathy.

Computer literacy – ability to use various computer systems, medical and technical software, and have your own email account for communication

Ability to follow direction – adhere to policy and procedure and attend regular meetings to remain updated with the organisation and be part of the quality assurance program.

An eye for detail and being well organised are essential attributes

Shifts: 8-4.30 or 9-5.30 and occasional Saturdays. We do not have ADOs but are able to offer 38 hours per week over 4 days if that is preferred.
