SLC NSW/ACT Sponsorship Policy
Sign Language Communications (SLC) NSW/ACT proudly provides professional Auslan/English interpreting services the Deaf Community in Australia. We are the longest running Auslan/English interpreting service in NSW/ACT, with many years of experience and expertise in interpreting and working with the Deaf Community.
We are committed to the ongoing development of the Deaf Community and have established a policy of ensuring that all profits generated are reinvested back into services which benefit the Deaf Community.
We ensure that each year we have funds to provide sponsorship for Deaf Community events. If your community organisation or group would like to ask us to sponsor your event, then you can do this by completing the below “Request for Sponsorship” form and submitting it to the Manager, SLC NSW/ACT.
Examples of events we have sponsored in the past include the ASLIA NSW/DA NSW annual awards night, Parents of Deaf Children Trivia Night, the Deaf Netball AGM event, A11yBytes accessibility event as well as various community celebrations.
What can sponsorship funding be used for?
We provide funds in order to cover the cost of interpreting for activities that benefit the Deaf Community in NSW and the ACT. Applications can be received by individuals or organisations.
SLC NSW/ACT will consider applications for interpreting up to the value of $1,000 per application (up to 10 hours of interpreting)
Applicants must complete the “Request for Sponsorship” form below and outline how the event will benefit the Deaf Community as well as disclose any other event sponsors or applications for sponsorship at the time of application.
Applicants will also be required to provide some recognition for SLC NSW/ACT sponsoring the event. Some examples of this include using the SLC logo in your event promotions, providing an opportunity for a SLC NSW/ACT representative to attend and speak at the event and complimentary ticket/s to the event.
Sponsorship funds may not be used to fund interpreting for organisations that are responsible to budget and fund access provisions under their legislative obligations.
