- Skills and Career Credential vs. CDOS (Lisa Dearlove)-
- Skills- Download the Transition Resource Manual- handout given
- Both credentials linked to employment.
- CDOS- When you give that to a student, you are saying that the district is saying the student is ready for entry level employment. Students must have evidence of achievement in the CDOS learning standards at the commencement level. (CTE and work-based learning experience is required). Documentation is required.
- Skills Credential- These students have more significant needs and will need substantial support in terms of employment. Student is eligible and assessed. Community based instruction and work based learning. Skills credential exit summary. The Way to Work- suggested text regarding work-based learning.
*Must have programming in pace next year for all students with disabilities. It must be offered at CSE and Transition Planning meetings for all special education students, as moving from 8th to 9th grade. (except for kids who are getting the skills credential)

- Indicator Information- 44-10 programs Memo- If a private program, need to have a licensed psychologist to complete the initial evaluation…they are operating outside of school law. This was in place August 2014. Some districts are now applying to become evaluators. 518-473-2878- call if you want to voice your opinion.
