SJT DELIVERS YEAR ON YEAR SUCCESS

Students and staff at Sir John Talbot’s School in Whitchurch are celebrating again today as they receive another year of incredible GCSE results. GCSE grades at the school have continued to improve, with 100% of students gaining at least 5 GCSE passes and 10% of students achieving at least 5 A* and A grades. Headteacher of Sir John Talbot’s School, David O’Toole, is “over the moon” with the performance of Year 11 students.

Mr O’Toole commented, “We offer a broad and balanced curriculum at GCSE designed to ensure all students achieve their absolute best. Children of all abilities have achieved well with all students gaining at least five grades and many achieving 5 A*-A grades. We have achieved above national average in the new government measure of Progress 8 (Best 8 subjects achieved at GCSE compared to performance at the end of Key stage 2) With a thriving sixth form here at SJT, we are looking forward to welcoming many of the students back to embark on A Level courses in September.”

He continued, “Achievement of both A Level and GCSE students at Sir John Talbot’s School has been consistently high since working under The Marches Academy Trust as an Academy. We are very proud of all our students and I am confident all will thrive as they move on to the next stage of their chosen pathways.”
