SJMSAA Meeting Minutes:

SJMSAA Main Board Meeting:

Next meeting will beApril 18th, 2017 starting at 6pm at the Watson Real Estate Office on CR210. This is a monthly meeting.

Please review the meeting date to ensure you can attend. If you cannot attend, please try to have someone attend in your place. Sports Directors can send a representative to give your monthly report.

  2. Minutes from previous meeting June 2016, Motion to Approve: Dave Jarrett, Seconded: Jane Rogers
  3. Executive Board Report:

Presidents Report: Justin Palesotti

1)Approved contract for CORA Physical Therapy to be the onsite trainers for all SJMSAA Sports functions. CORA on field personnel will be equipped with AED’s in case of emergency. CORA will also provide physicals to all SJMSAA athletes. If injured during an event, CORA will refer all injured parties to Atlas Physical Therapy for evaluation and follow up care or the athlete may use his/her own physician

2)Nizam Emamdie- Website Director has opened discussions with Blue Sombrero in reference to changing our online registration to them as well as website maintenance. There are no up front costs for the change and Blue Sombrero will charge a 2.8% transaction fee for all registrations. By changing over, SJMSAA will be able to save money on website fees that have been paid out in the past. Vote for Blue Sombrero to become the official website host was tabled until the April meeting until more information could be acquired.

3)Discussion regarding adding Flagler County Middle Schools to SJMSAA was tabled for a later meeting pending contact with their lead

4)SJMSAA discussed opening a retail outlet store for fan gear as well as a place or location to store equipment and to hold physicals. Locations are still being discussed and looked at. Potential sites include a retail space next to Body Control on Racetrack Road and WorldGolfVillage. Decision was tabled until more information could be acquired.

5)Adjusted Cheer Budget was approved: Motion to Approve- Jane Rogers: Seconded- Jason Cutler.

6)Football Budget was approved and registration has been opened. Motion to Approve- Shanna Scott: Seconded-Jason Cutler and Dave Jarrett

7)SJMSAA attended the CountyCommissioners meeting on March 21st and discussed ways that the county needs to aid our programs in development for the future. Field Space and School Growth were some of the topics discussed.

8)On behalf of Shanna Scott, SJMSAA Marketing Director, the Board recognized Davor Fetahovic, General Manager of Body Control. Body Control is looking for a more defined partnership with SJMSAA in building stronger athletes for all of our sports and our schools. Body Control will hold a series of camps for all athletes on Saturday April 8th and Saturday April 15th. April 8th camp will be in the Northern part of the county and the 15th will be for the Southern part of the county. Cost will be $20 with $10 of that fee coming back to SJMSAA to aid in building the association for the future. More camps are being planned for the summer and more information will come.

1)Tennis- Scott and Ashley Miller- Not Present- emailed that the season is going smooth and is so far very successful

3)Soccer-Nizam Emamdie: Present: After final review of the season it was the best year soccer has had from a participation standpoint

4)Football-Drew McClung: Present

5)Golf- Tim Tresca- Not Present: emailed: Matches have begun

6)Baseball- Curtis Mack-Not Present- emailed that they are still having issues with registration and payments on the website

7)Cheer- Ryan Baer/Brianne Stansell- updated budget approved
