Five Day Training Course

BACKGROUND
Six Sigma has become the fastest spreading and most successful approach to Continuous Improvement across all industries regardless of size, position in the supply chain or service provided. An essential element of Six Sigma roll-out is Green Belt training. This Green Belt workshop will exposure delegates to the powerful tools and methodology necessary to successfully lead and contribute to DMAIC improvement projects within the organisation.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
  • To understand the concept of Six Sigma and the DMAIC approach to process improvement.
  • To understand the tools involved in the Define, Measure, Analyse, Improve and Control phases
  • To understand the use of the tools in characterising a process, analysing process data, and controlling processes
  • To practice the key tools via projects or simulation exercises
  • To learn the basics of the Minitab™ Software which is most commonly used with Six Sigma analysis

WHO SHOULD ATTEND
This course is intended for front line problem solving personnel responsible for resolving process problems in day-to-day operations or responsible for leading Continuous Improvement teams.
It is also intended for those working with Six Sigma Black Belts on major improvement programmes or looking for breakthrough performance in key business metrics.
There is a requirement for delegates to bring a laptop with most recent version of Minitab which can be downloaded in advance on a free 30-day trail basis from Note that for in house training alternative software packages may be used (such as SPCXL). If a laptop is not available, delegates can share with a colleague.

This course comes with a very comprehensive manual, which proves to be an excellent source of reference after the course.
CERTIFICATION
There are several possible routes to certification. All certification on public courses will be by way of a short written exam at the end of the course. Where Public Courses are split into two sessions participants are invited to bring a project to gain experience with the tools. However this project will not be part of the certification process.
In-house courses can be run as one 5 day block or split into 2 and 3 day blocks with delegates completing projects as part of the course programme. In-house courses have several options to achieve certification:
-By way of exam (per public training)
-By submitting project reports and storyboards to the tutor following the training
-By requesting an onsite Project Review Day with the tutor where each Green Belt will present their project showing the methodology used and results achieved (note that an additional cost applies for this option)
Note that the maximum number of projects per in-house course is 8 (for individual projects) but at a minimum there should be one project between no more than four delegates (i.e. three projects for a class of 12).

TRAINING METHODOLODY
This classroom based course is highly interactive and uses practical exercises and simulated case studies to reinforce understanding and learning. The training is enhanced by the vast experience of the tutors who have trained hundreds of Green Belts and dozens of Black Belts as well as completing numerous transactional and manufacturing projects themselves. Training is combined with project mentoring for Green Belts embarking on their first Six Sigma project.
