Universal Travel Agency

Situation:

Put yourself several thousand years into the future. Space travel has flourished and space vacationing is now a common thing. Humans from earth and aliens from other planets frequently visit various planets for family vacations, etc. You work for the Universal Travel Agency and you would like to get more visitors to the earth to improve the earth’s economy as well as making your boss happy and getting a big bonus! The one unique thing to earth is the fact that it has water. All the planets you will be marketing to do not have water, so you decide to promote this amenity to the aliens who are potential visitors. Water has many interesting properties that any alien would love to experience and you intend to capitalize on that!

Task:

Use one of the available programs on the laptops to create a flyer, brochure, or presentation, to use in your promotion of earth travel. You can also write a fictional story, or write a commercial (just the script, no photostory this time). Aliens tend to be very science focused; therefore, use your scientific knowledge of water’s unique physical properties to sway the travelers to come to earth. Use things like the density anomaly, surface tension, specific heat capacity to make earth, with its abundance of water, be the ideal vacation spot. Be creative and be sure to include pictures, etc. where appropriate to make it appealing. The project must produce a printable product and may be a combination of several items. There will be no presentations for this project. The project will be worth 30 points and will be scored as follows:
