The school is run by Kamalakar Trust. Ms. Bharati Devi founded the school, 8 years before, is soul of this noble cause. The school described by locales as "Pedavalla school" [school of the poor people], is doing great job of educating the children from the poor families, who cannot afford schooling expenses and who are usually sent to work as child labor.
The school, which runs under a rented building, has strength of about 200 kids, has 6 rooms and about 9 teachers. It's in dire need of more space and Ms. Bharati Devi wants to construct couple more rooms on the second floor.
The students from slum area, who cannot afford to pay the tuition and also their school expenses are not only given free education, but are also provided with school dress, books, shoes etc.

Most of the students are from very poor family. It was unbelievable to see how hard is it to make students come to school, even after everything at school was free. A free lunch at nearby temple, dropped the student attendance by 5%, as parents of these students, wanted their kids to join them for free lunch rather than a free class. In such a place, were teachers have to beg to keep sending the students to school, Vikas Bharati is doing an amazing job of educating them not only in curriculum based knowledge, but into many other areas like cultural activities, games etc. [attached is the pdf, with several school activities]
Just two weeks before OmPrakash Trust has donated about 200 books. Students were already reading those books given by OmPrakash trust.

Students are also well versed with several other poems, books etc. It was interesting to see how the school was going out of regular curriculum and was teaching so much about nature, social life and about life.
The school is doing great progress with the current funds allocated to it by several non-profit organization, and esp they are very thankful to Asha for providing great support and also in helping them build a great morale in the students.
What they want:
The inflation in India is currently at whopping 12.5% and it has become immensely hard to keep teachers at current pay grade.
They would like to get at least 20% more than what they received last year to maintain the same standard of education.
Also they request to get funds for building couple more rooms so that they can accommodate students. Currently they are teaching two class students, in one room. It is extremely difficult to listen the class, when two teachers are teaching in same room.
So many several political ministers have visited and felicitated Kamlakar trust for doing such a noble cause to the much needed people, but have not have helped with single penny.
Attached is the last year expense sheet of the school. The last year expense is Rs 5,04,595.00. With rent, salaries, books and operating cost increase, I request to disburse 20% more than last year donation.
Also attached are the student marks.
