4th Grade

Sioux City History Projects

The fourth graders have been studying Sioux City History. As a culminating activity, the students will be required to do a final THREE DIMENSIONAL PROJECT. Parents, you MAY help your child since the project must be done totally at home. No school time will be provided for the completion of the project. They will be graded by the teacher and the Sioux City Museum will come and view them. All students must do this for a grade. The museum will view them for display at the museum, only a few are chosen to go and all that participate will receive a ribbon.

There are 2 project choices:

1: It must be a three dimensional project/replica of the place; a card must accompany it with the students name, the project name, and a brief description and the historical significance. You will choose a historical monument or place in Sioux City and create a model of it using the above and following criteria. Size requirements are: No larger than 11” deep by 17” long and 17” tall. Any projects with electricity will not have access to electricity.

2: You may do a poster using high quality pictures of a certain monument or location in Sioux City. There needs to be many detailed descriptions, pictures/drawing, and facts of the historical significance of the location.

All Projects must be labeled with the child’s first name, last name, teachers name, and Spalding Park Elementary.
