The Business Networking and Investment Seminar organsied by and take place at Singapore Business Federation (SBF) invites potential businessmen in Singapore to understand the business climate and investment rules regulations in Thailand. It covers potential business sectors that Board of Investment (BOI) allows, labour hiring and costs incurred, work permits and visa, ownership of land and factories, and living expectation and conditions for investment commitments in Thailand.

This seminar plays an important role in promoting closer economic relations between our two countries, particularly on investment. The turnout with over 80 businessmen today reinforces the assessment that there is huge potential for business and investments opportunities in Thailand, particularly in the areas of green and environmental related investment. Bilateral trade and investment between Singapore and Thailand has always been strong.

The opening and welcoming session is shared by Dr. Robert Yap, Chairman of ASEAN Business Group, H.E. Jitti Suwannik, Charge' d' Affaires, (The Royal Thai Embassy) and also Mr Yuthasak Kanasawat the Executive Director of Board of Investment (BOI).

Singapore ranks among the top five foreign investors in Thailand in terms of numbers of projects applying to the BOI in 2010. This reflects not only strong ties between Thailand and Singapore, but also shows the strong business potential of Thailand with regards to its geographical proximity and conducive competitive environment as well as prosperous economy.
