SILVIA AYMONINO
Costume designer
Born in Rome, where she is currently living and working, Silvia Aymonino started her career at a very young age, collaborating for ten years with Sartoria Tirelli, where she started working on sartorial material: she received ever more prestigious appointments up to working alongside Director Giorgio d’Alberti, from 1985 to 1993, for the creation of costumes with the greatest Italian and international costume designers, such as Gabriella Pescucci, Maurizio Millenotti, Piero Tosi, Pier Luigi Pizzi, Franca Squarciapino, Vera Marzot, Carlo Diappi, Paul Brown.
During those same years she has set up several exhibitions which were promoted by tailors such as “Vestire i Sogni” in Mantua and Lisbon, “La Direzione Tirelli” at Palazzo Pitti in Florence, “L’uomo elegante per Pitti Uomo” and “Emilio Pucci” for Florence fashion week.
She made her debut as costume designer in 1996, at the Opera in Rome for Puccini’sTurandot, directed by Stefano Monti with set design by Edoardo Sanchi. She has collaborated with many famous artists, such as Franco Ripa di Meana, Marco Gandini and Damiano Michieletto for opera and with Andrea Liberovici and Luca Ronconi for prose.
She has created the costumes for an experimental TV project for mobile phones, in the fictional “Room4u – L’Ospite Perfetto” and for the TV series “Al di là del lago” with Fidia Film.
She has been Wardrobe Supervisor in several cinema and TV productions.
As co-costumist she has signed costumes in Brasil for the Flag handover at the Olympic Ceremony and for the Paraolympics in London in 2012, in 2014 she was Costume Designer and Costume Supervisor at the Olympic and Paraolimpic Ceremonies of Sochi.
Recently she delivered the costumes of Verdi’s Aida at the Teatro Sferisterio di Macerata Directed by Francesco Micheli and Puccini’s Tosca with Direction by Franco Ripa di Meana and again for Rossini’s Barbiere di Siviglia at the Terme di Caracalla directed by Lorenzo Mariani and Wolf-Ferrari’s Campiello directed by Leo Muscato at the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino and Verdi’s Rigoletto at the Opera di Roma.
She debuted at the Teatro Filarmonico di Verona and at Salieri di Legnago in 2009 creating the costimes for Il Mondo alla rovescia.
At the Arena di Verona she created costumes for Gounod’s Roméo et Juliette a production re-staged in 2012, 2013, 2014 and again for the 93rd edition of the Opera Festival in 2015.
