Welcome and Announcements
Prelude: “Christ the Lord Is Risen Today,” His Little Chimers
“Hallelujah Chorus,” Hunter Piersol-organ
*Greeting:
Pastor: The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all.
All: And also with you.
*Processional Hymn:“Good Christian Friends, Rejoice and Sing!” LBW #144
*Responsive Reading:
Pastor: Alleluia! Christ is risen!
All: He is risen indeed!
Pastor: We come together to share in his triumph!
All: On this early Easter morning we greet each other with great joy, for the Lord is risen!
Pastor: On Good Friday we were made to part with our friend. Lovingly, we placed his body in a tomb…
All: Sadly, we went away to mourn our loss, to grieve the world’s tragic injustice.
Pastor: He had been taken from us, our Lord, one who loved, healed, forgave, and taught us.
All: We sorrowed for our Lord and felt the pain and hurt that he endured for us.
Pastor: And now we learn that he is raised! The tomb is empty!
All: Alleluia! Alleluia! The tomb is empty. The stone was rolled away!
Pastor: It all becomes clear in the dawn’s light—what he told of himself—we can now understand.
All: Jesus is Lord. Jesus is the Son of God. He is the Messiah! Alleluia!
*Prayer of the Day: (in unison) God of mercy, we no longer look for Jesus among the dead, for he is alive and has become the Lord of life. Increase in our minds and hearts the risen life we share with Christ and help us to grow as your people toward the fullness of eternal life with you, through Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God now and forever. Amen! Alleluia! He lives!

Pastor: Let us now take the message of the Resurrection of our Lord out into the world, into a place where people long to hear the good news we have received. Let us recall a week ago when we processed into shouts of acclamation and praise, only to slip into a week of suffering and pain. Let our procession into the world today proclaim the victory Christ achieved over such sorrow and the hope He gave us all! Go now in the name of
our Risen Lord, to love and serve others in His name!
All: Thanks be to God!
*Recessional Hymn: “Now All the Vault of Heaven Resounds” LBW #143
The congregation is asked to follow the choir out of the church as we sing the recessional hymn. Each participant will be handed a flower that is to be placed on the cross outside. When the hymn is concluded, the service ends with the affirmation of faith.
*Pastor: This we believe.
*All: We believe in the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, who for our sake shared human life and human death, even death on a cross. We believe in the love of God, who is the source of all life and whose power raised Jesus from the dead. We believe in the community of the Holy Spirit, who works without ceasing to unite believers of every time and place in their one Lord, Jesus Christ. As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be. AMEN.
*Benediction:
Pastor: May God grant you grace to follow in faith where Christ has led the way, that you may live every day with courage and perseverance, and at length fall asleep peacefully in him and rise in his likeness.
Benediction Response: “Because He Lives,” Doug Heydt, soloist
Pastor: On this fine day look up and out—
All: See the people yearning for meaning, hungering for truth, searching for God.
Pastor: Look up and look far—
All: See the wounded bearing their grief; see the stranger longing to be welcomed; see the frightened fearing another rejection.
Pastor: Look up and look within—
All: See the hurt within us that longs to be healed; see the sin that begs for forgiveness; see the timid part of ourselves that desires release and power.
Pastor: Look up and look deep—
All: See Christ with arms opened wide, with eyes filled with love, with our name on his lips.
Pastor: Look up and sing—
All: Sing of God’s love that welcomes us and welcomes all.
We leave from Sunrise Service and have breakfast in the Fellowship Hall. Please allow the Adult Choir to move through the line first so they might have more time for the final rehearsal for Easter.
