  1. THIS SPECIAL MEETING WAS CALLED PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF THE OPEN PUBLIC MEETING LAW. NOTICES OF THIS MEETING WERE FAXED TO THE COAST STAR AND THE ASBURY PARK PRESS ON MONDAY DECEMBER 9, 2008. IN ADDITION, COPIES OF NOTICES WERE POSTED ON THE BULLETIN BOARD IN THE MUNICIPALBUILDING AND FILED IN THE OFFICE OF THE MUNICIPAL CLERK ON AFOREMENTIONED DATE. NOTICES ON THE BULLETIN BOARD HAVE REMAINED CONTINUOUSLY POSTED.

There was a motion by Councilman Martin, which was seconded by Councilman McLean to amend the agenda to move voice of the public after the Joint Executive Session with the Planning Board. The motion passed unanimously.

When the Governing Body and the Planning Board returned into public session from their joint executive session, Borough Attorney, Frederick Raffetto gave a general synopsis of what the bodies had discussed in executive session and he outlined the process moving forward. He commented on the purpose of the upcoming public hearing, which would take place during the special meetings scheduled for both the Governing Body and Planning Board on 12/29/08.

The Planning Board adjourned their meeting and after a brief recess, the Governing Body reopened the public portion of their meeting at 9:54PM.

Voice of the Public Opened at 9:55 PM

  • Evelyn Condello, Park Avenue, asked if COAH housing can be designated for senior housing. Nancy Holm, Esq. responded that 25% of the Borough’s affordable housing could be designated for senior citizens.
  • Rita Murphy, Highway 71, asked about the income limitations for affordable housing. Nancy Holm, Esq. gave those limits for MonmouthCounty.
