Our History

Sierra Credit Corporation was founded in 2004 in the City of San Fernando, California. The company was started by a Brother and Sister team within their family’s long running Auto Dealership. Ariel Rosso had worked at the dealership for 12 years and had always been inclined to the finance side of the operation. He had dreams of one day expanding the business to include buy here/pay here dealer financing. Andrea Murphy graduated California State University Northridge with a BA in sociology (while Sierra Credit was still a start up!), and brought with her a background in auto financing as well as her Insurance License. One day in the Spring of 2004, they came together along with their Parent’s support and financial backing, and the idea of Sierra Credit was born.

What began as a one desk, shared computer operation with literally one account, soon grew and Sierra Credit needed to move from the dealership into its own office. Still wanting to be close to the community which had given the Rosso family so much and to be convenient to the predominantly Hispanic customer base, Sierra looked for office space within the City of San Fernando.

A small, 2 room office was rented on Brand Blvd. in San Fernando in July of 2005. Sierra Credit hired its first employee soon after moving. Business began to increase and by the end of 2005,they doubled their employee count, to 2!

By the Spring of 2007 they were running out of room and decided to lease the office next door. They completed the office expansion in 30 days while never once losing a day of work! Although they worked through dust and jack hammering, they completed the expansion and now had room for 9 people whichthey thought would last them for years! It lasted 20 months…

In early 2009, Sierra Credit was growing by leaps and bounds and they were faced with a dilemma. Either rent another office and tear down more walls, or move. After months of discussions and office searching they decided that moving was the best option. They found a facility that was a prior mortgage retail space that was twice as big as their then current location. They completed the move in July of 2009, which gave them room for twice the number of employees as well as conference and break rooms. As they look to the future, they expect to continue working with the local community as well as dealerships to provide a needed service for years to come.
