Joined the Public Service Sector in 1995 as a lecturer and have been attached to various Departments and Faculties since. As an academic officer, duties include research, teaching and administration.
1995 to 1997 - Faculty of Information Technology, University Malaysia Sarawak.

From September 2000 – March 2004, study leave was granted to undertake a postgraduate research programme towards the degree of PhD at the Department of Computing, Imperial College London, University of London.
Research
.2006-Obtained two research grants from Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, Malaysia for projects entitled Managing and Mining Audio With/Without Texts and A Musical Search Engine for Malaysian Musical Genres.
2000-Obtained sponsorship for research towards the degree of PhD in the area of Multimedia Knowledge Management focusing on Audio (Music) Information Retrieval from the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment, Malaysia under the Human Resource Development (Science & Technology) programme.
1999-Obtained a short-term research grant from University Putra Malaysia for an individual research project on Content-based Audio Recognition for Audio Search and Retrieval in Multimedia Databases and File Systems.
1998-Obtained a short-term research grant from University Putra Malaysia for an individual research project on Automated Text and Audio Synchronisation in Multimedia Authoring.
-Assisted Dr. Murugan Anandarajan, Professor of Information Systems from Drexel University, Philadelphia, USA with a research project on Intenet Usage Behaviour in Malaysia (which was part of a global study examining the phenomena).
1996 & 1997-Member of the Virtual Campus research project team at the Faculty of Information Technology, University Malaysia Sarawak – assisted with preliminary work on the Learning Units module.
