PRESS QUOTE ABOUT ARTIST/PROJECT/COMPANY:

World of Wires opened with one of the most thrillingly witty displays of illusion I've ever seen on a stage or a screen — a genuine challenge to one's fixed notion of reality — and then barreled through another 90 minutes of riveting near anarchy. I'm hereby sending a brain transmission out to some Off Broadway/nonprofit Morpheus: Please, reboot this soon. — Scott Brown - New York Magazine

For the interdisciplinary auteur Jay Scheib mixing media is as much a socio-philosophical statement as an aesthetic one. His “World of Wires” has equal measures of wonder and anxiety (and, thank heaven, asense of humor).

— Ben Brantley, The New York Times

Scheib’s brand of theater always seems to be ahead of everybody else.

ANTICIPATED RUNNING TIME: 7 Minutes? 17 Minutes?

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF WHAT YOU ARE ACTUALLY SHOWING (for technical purposes, so our stage managers and lighting/sound techs can know what to expect):

I’ll need a microphone. A table. A projector. I’ll work with either VGA or Mini DVI (I’m guessing I’ll bring a macbook pro —the 17 inch version.)

IF YOU WISH TO HAVE A FEEDBACK/Q&A SESSION AS PART OF YOUR PERFORMANCE, WILL YOU NEED A MODERATOR? [ YES PLEASE CAN HELEN DO IT? ]

LIST OF ITEMS/EQUIPMENT YOU WILL BE BRINGING: Macbook Pro. Some Wigs. Maybe a fake pistol. A camera maybe? One or two Avatars and a very large white table-cloth.

LIST OF ITEMS/EQUIPMENT YOU NEED: microphone on a table top stand (sm58-ish preferably)

ANY SPECIAL SOUND, LIGHTING, OR VIDEO NEEDS: Nothing special. A spot light cut exactly to the table top at center would be swell? Would that be doable?

WILL YOU NEED TECH/REHEARSAL TIME PRIOR TO YOUR PERFORMANCE? [YES] [NO]

IF YES, HOW MUCH: One half of an hour I guess to write two light cues. Focus one spotlight on the table and test the projector sound for fun.

IF YES, PLEASE TELL US YOUR FULL AVAILABILITY ON MONDAY AND TUESDAY, OCTOBER 1 AND 2:

Not available on Monday. Only available on Tuesday. As late in the afternoon as possible, if possible.

IF YES, PLEASE TELL US YOUR FULL AVAILABILITY ON THE DAY OF YOUR PERFORMANCE, LEADING UP TO THE TIME OF YOUR PERFORMANCE:

I am part of a group of performances right? I am available super early in the morning and then really late in that afternoon. Like six?

IF NO, PLEASE TELL US WHAT TIME WE CAN EXPECT YOU TO ARRIVE THE DAY OF YOUR SHOWING:
