Show 3: Radio/TV Show: “Sneak Peek”
Part 1
Cameron Logo 0:30
Intro 0:30
30 seconds of “Sneak Peek” music bed playing with the announcer voice over it as the DJs are getting ready. As the announcer says “Sneak Peek”, a white graphic that says “Sneak Peek” in Impact Font (bolded) fades in. After 30 seconds, the music becomes lower, and the opening/teases begin.
Teases and TFN Community Talk 1:18
Tease the show, give some quick information on what’s coming to get the audience psyched. And also make sure you let your personality shine through here. The audience should feel intrigued and comfortable with the DJs. And then make a smooth transition into a TFN community talk (unless you are given a specific date). When you have 10 seconds left, transition seamlessly into the Game Break.
Bit (Game Break) 2:12
Right when Game Break starts, the mediator walks in and the engineer moves to Mic 2 and sits next to the other DJ. There must be a clear winner, and the mediator should keep score throughout the game. When the game is done, the mediator leaves, and the engineer goes back to his/her place.

TFN School Talk (with sounder)1:48
Use the special “Sneak Peek” school talk sounder. This should again be TFN. Try NOT to make this segment an attack on something in the school. We don’t want to come off that way. Make it more of a balanced discussion. With ten seconds left, make a smooth transition into viewpoints.
Bit (Viewpoints)2:12
Use three undated, TFN topics (or a date that Mr. A gives you). Two of the three topics should be current events, but one can be a historical viewpoint if you choose.

A more general, topical talk that can range vastly in topic. Be creative.
Laugh Track 1:10
Use the “Sneak Peek” laugh track sounder. This can be anything entertaining, cut loose and think creatively. Just don’t use professional comedy to avoid copyright issues.
Goodbye/Recap 0:30
Wrap up the show. Highlight some of the key things you covered, and come to a natural end with the usual sign of “
Outro0:30
30 seconds of “Sneak Peek” music bed playing with the announcer voice outro over it as the DJs are cleaning up. As the announcer says “You’ve been watching Sneak Peek”, a white graphic inImpact Font (bolded) fades in. It says “To listen to West Windsor-Plainsboro High School Radio, tune into 107.9 FM, webcast at , or podcast through iTunes.” When the announcer says “Sneak Peek is an exclusive production”, a graphic appears on the screen that says “Sneak Peek….An excusive WWPH-TV Production”. Library and is in its 8th consecutive year, providing the opportunity and venue for
youth filmmakers to show their work to a broad audience. The festival attendance has
reached capacity audiences every year with about 150 people per night, with lots of
appreciation and lively feedback for the filmmakers.
-Filmmakers are invited to submit in many genres, including “Abstract”,
“Animation”, “Comedy”, “Commercial”, “Documentary”, “Feature”,
“Environmental”, “Experimental”, “Mockumentary”, “Music Video”, “Personal
Narrative”, “Public Service Announcement”, and “Other”. This year we are adding
an additional category -- “Where I’m From” ~ to show local culture, community,
landscape, a local place, an animal or a specific local person including self-portrait
films about the student filmmaker’s life where they live.

School Talk (using sounder)2:18
With the amount that’s happening in the world right now, people are putting more and more focus on students being “globally aware”. The WW-P Board of Education is trying to find ways to make its curriculum more expansive to students walk into college and eventually the real world understanding the world they live in.
Do you think WW-P would benefit from a current events class? We have so many courses, and so many electives. But nothing truly dedicated 100% to talking about and debating current events.
Would the addition of a class like this be a good thing?
Bit (Viewpoints)2:12
Current Event Issue #1: Dominican baseball academies are a way for aspiring children to following through with a career as a Pro-Baseball player. While many believe the academies are a way for Dominicans to escape a poor lifestyle, others say these only hurt children who aren’t don’t succeed.
Details:
(
Pro:
Many times, the young children cannot afford an education. Going into baseball academies allows them to participate in a program that is useful and affordable.
The Dominican programs actually help the Major League Baseball programs as well. In December of 2009, 10% of pro-baseball players were from the Dominican Republic.
The baseball academies bring millions of dollars to the Dominican Republic, because many Major Leagues invest in the programs. Some of the Dominican academies discourage learners from using steroids. They teach baseball players about the harm of using performance-enhancing drugs.
Con:
Many of the participants do not e succeed in baseball, and because they started at such a young age, are left without an education.
A lot of the baseball players have nothing to fall back on after they leave the baseball programs. They aren’t well-rounded, and rely on baseball to help them survive for the rest of their lives.
These programs are also, occasionally, immoral. They are similar to human trafficking, in that the Major Baseball Leagues employ young children before they are old enough to make decisions for themselves. The young baseball players have not had time to explore other possible careers, and are forced to participate in the baseball programs.
Current Event Issue #2: The Princeton area will be hosting the 2014 Special Olympics. Some residents feel this is an honor for the area and others feel it is an inconvenience.
Details:
(
PROS
- Hosting the Special Olympics is a prestigious honor for the area. We should be thankful they want them to take place here.
- With thousands of visitors expected the games are expected to bring in about 50 million dollars in revenue to the area and are great for the local businesses and hotels.
- There will be national recognition for our area nationally and globally. It is a good organization for our area to support.
- The games will bring job growth.. It will create full time and part time positions and boost our economy.
CONS:
- With the thousands of visitors comes an added load of traffic
- For the people not involved with the Special Olympics it will be inconvenient for them to travel locally with all the tourists
- Even though it will bring in money, it will also temporarily cost us money to pay for the venues and set up.
Current Event Issue #3: Government spending cuts should focus on specific programs that do not impact the nation and are not needed.
Details:
(
YES:
- Spending needs to be reduced for the year; the fewer programs there are, the better it is for the government.
- The largest part of the budget is pre-determined spending, which will stay in effect so most groups will not suffer.
- All the government wants is to do what the American people want and if cutting programs will do it then it will have to be done.
NO:
- Eliminating funding for specific programs such as Planned Parenthood will affect the country more than the population assumes.
- With certain cuts, organizations will not even work as strongly as in the past because of the lack of funding.
- This is all part of the Republican plan for power, spending cuts is not as important as the power struggle.

Israel’s Electric Car Network- Could It Change The World?
Shai Agassi, the founder of Better Place, the most sophisticated electric-car enterprise in the world, is confident that the new Israeli Car Network can change the world. "Within less than this decade the No. 1–selling car in the world will be the electric car," he says. "It's the biggest financial opportunity the world has ever seen.
The People's Republic has been busy creating a bourgeoisie, and the middle class does like to drive. Beijing's next five-year plan foresees at least 170 million new vehicles, or perhaps twice that, according to Agassi. The lower estimate alone is as many cars as there are in Germany, France, Spain, Italy and Britain combined. The 8 million barrels of oil that would be required every day to fuel them is about as much as the U.S. imports every day. "Do you know what the price of oil will be in five years if they're not using electric cars?" Agassi asks.
The electric sedan Agassi says will change the world, well, feels like a regular car. On the test track, the Renault four-door (a retrofitted Laguna, the Fluences are not yet on site) zooms smoothly down the straight, silent and more comfortable than, say, a Prius. The one similarity is that from a standing start there's a wee lag, more like the Prius than the G-force jackrabbit start of the Tesla, the torqued-up all-electric sports car with a base price of $108,000. "It's sub–10 seconds zero to 60," says Agassi, of his ride. "If you want to go zero to 60 in five seconds you want the Tesla. If you've got another five seconds to spare, I can save you $80,000."
So, can the electric car change the world? Or is it just a lofty idea?
