Atlantic recording artist Shinedown has announced plans to headline the 2016 Carnival of Madness Tour. Bandsintown exclusively reported the tour announcement earlier this morning: The sixth annual trek – also featuring Atlantic Records labelmates Halestorm, Black Stone Cherry, Whiskey Myers, and more – embarks July 20th at Southhaven, MS’s Landers Center and then travels through mid-August (see attached itinerary). The multi-platinum certified rock band returned home and immediately set out on a major US headline tour, concluding this Friday, March 18th at Deadwood, SD’s Deadwood Casino. “State Of My Head,” the latest single from Shinedown’s blockbuster new album “THREAT TO SURVIVAL,” marks yet another milestone in the band’s historic run of chart topping hits. The track recently reached #1 at Mainstream Rock outlets nationwide – their 10th single to top the chart. “State Of My Head” continuesa record-setting streak in which every one of the 20 singles released over Shinedown’s decade-plus career has ascended to the top10 – a feat unmatched by any other rock band, now or ever before.The powerful “State Of My Head” companion video proved an equivalent success with close to 2.5 million YouTube views and counting.
Shinedown returns to ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! for a much-anticipated performance, scheduled for Wednesday, April 13th (check local listings).
Shinedown made a stunning chart debut last year as “THREAT TO SURVIVAL” – the band’s fifth studio album and first new release in three years – arrived at #5 on the overall SoundScan/Billboard 200 while simultaneously debuting atop Billboard’s “Rock Albums”and “Top Hard Rock Albums” chart.
Produced by Shinedown’s own Eric Bass, “Cut The Cord,” the album’s first single, spent a remarkable eight consecutive weeks at #1 Active Rock airplay charts nationwide. In addition, the “Cut The Cord” companion video – directed by the band’s longtime collaborator Darren Doane (“Devour,” “Sound of Madness,” “Bully”) – has already earned close to 12.5 million views at Shinedown’s official YouTube channel.
Shinedown celebrated “THREAT TO SURVIVAL” with a blockbuster US tour, co-headlined by Breaking Benjamin. The cross-country trek proved a massive success, topping Billboard’s “Hot Tours” recap with ticket sales exceeding $1 million from the final four venues alone. The 24-date arena tour took in an impressive $5.7 million overall.
The tour earned Shinedown a bounty of incredible reviews, with Loudwire proclaiming their live set to be “explosive…In Brent Smith, the band has not only a commanding voice, but also the presence of an intense frontman determined to connect with the emotional consciousness of every single person in the audience.
