Minutes of the General Meeting

April 21, 2012

Location: Solano County Fairgrounds (Vallejo) at the Chief Solano Kennel Club Show.

The meeting was called to order by President Yvonne Samuelson at 11:50 pm. We had the following guests:

·Vicky Rosconi

·Shirley and Victor Nikolashin

Minutes of Previous Meeting: No changes.

President’s Report: No report.

Correspondence: No report.

Treasurer: No report.

Membership: No report.

Breeder Referral: No report.

October Specialty: It’s a little early yet. Halina Christie reported that we need to get AKC approval for the Specialty and we need to get it online. Then we will get the judges approved. Diane Hawes will be judging classes and Pat Mahoney will be the sweepstakes judge.

Website: Alicia Keegan said that there have been no major changes with the website. Michelle Hughes will take over the maintenance of the website when Alicia leaves. Alicia has sent a CD with all the website files to Michelle.

Old Business:

·Christmas Party: The Christmas Party Committee has selected a site for the 2012 party – Sinodinos, located on 36665 Cedar Blvd. in Newark. Their sit-down banquet menu is $25 per person without tax or tip. We do not have a day or time for the party yet.

·February Specialty: We got $100 back for cleaning up our space at the Santa Clara Fairgrounds.

New Business:

·Slate of Officers: The Nominating Committee has produced a slate of officers. Anita Rasmussen will be replacing Patricia Nelson on the Board of Directors—otherwise, all of the current officers and board will be retaining their positions. We will take nominations from the floor during the next meeting (the person nominating must have the consent of the nominee).

·Sheltie Rescue: Sheltie Rescue recently took in 4 males from the same household in Nevada County. They are heartworm positive, plus other health problems. The estimated cost to treat all 4 dogs will be about $4,000. Can SSCNC donate the money for their treatment? (We couldn’t decide at this meeting because there wasn’t a quorum. The SSCNC Board will decide.)

Good of the Order: No report.

Next Meeting: Saturday, May 19th at the Coyote Hills KC show at the Fairgrounds in Vallejo after Sheltie judging.

Adjourned: 12:15 pm
