Margaret J. Rohlfs, 78, of Redfield, SD died Tuesday, June 2, 2009 at Community Memorial Hospital in Redfield. Her funeral will be Friday, June 5, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Redfield. Reverend Tim Fugman will officiate. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery in Redfield. Margaret was born June 10, 1930 in Corona, SD to DeLyle and Marion (Hooth) Miller. She grew up in the Corona area and graduated from Corona High School, as valedictorian of the class of 1948. Margaret married Junior Rohlfs on December 24, 1948 near Wilmot, SD. They lived in Miller, SD before moving to Redfield in 1949. Margaret worked for the Coffee Shop, telephone company, Lola’s Dress Shop, Miller Drug and Randall Pharmacy.
Margaret and Junior enjoyed traveling on short trips and spending their summers at the Missouri River at West Whitlock Resort. She enjoyed spending time with her family and having coffee with her friends.
She was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, American Legion Auxiliary and VFW Auxiliary.
Margaret is survived by her husband Junior of Redfield, her children Darrel (Darlene) Rohlfs of Fargo, ND; Rita (Larry) Price of Redfield; Rodney (Jill) Rohlfs of Fergus Falls, MN; and Terry (Deb) Rohlfs of Wolsey, SD; nine grandchildren: Darrel D. (Colleen) Rohlfs, Lori Price Hoffman, Brent Rohlfs, Craig (Kami) Price, Shyla Rohlfs (Joey) Wessen, Steven “Herb” Rohlfs, Christy Rohlfs (Brad) Saltsman, Kyle Rohlfs and Erik Rohlfs and fifteen great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Jerry (Vangie) Miller of Aberdeen, SD; her sisters: Phyllis Harms of Sioux Falls, SD; Bonnie (Dale) Schulte of Sioux Falls, SD; and Marilyn Johnson of Mukilteo, WA and her brothers-in-law: Al Rohlfs of West Fargo, ND and Roger (June) Rohlfs of Corona, SD; two sisters-in-laws: Juanita Miller of Milbank, SD and Verla Miller of Corona, SD; and many nieces and nephews
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers: Don and Milford, two sisters-in-law, one brother-in-law and her granddaughter-in-law Colleen.
