Sharing a Google Drive Folder in Google Classroom

If a task calls for repeated postings of a document type, a method that will keep clutter to a minimum in classroom is to post a link from your drive folder to Classroom. This set of instructions focuses on Lesson Plans placed in a folder in Google drive. Then shared in Google Classroom via shared link. Administrators needing to view the lesson plan need only click the link to see all the lesson plans for a specific teacher within the classroom. Additionally, the same format can be used for any type of repeated posting of the same document type.

Instructions:

Once logged in to your computer launch your Chrome browser and go to . On the main menu select and from the drop down menu select . This will take you to the Google login page. At the top right hand side . (Make sure your using the @missioncisd.org suffix.)

Once logged in, click on the (Apps icon) and select (Google Drive). You are now in your drive to create a folder that will be shared in Classroom.

On the top left side click then select from the drop down menu. A window will open where you will type in the text field box then click .

You now have a folder in your Google drive: . Upload all you lesson plans into this folder by once again clicking on and selecting .

Now all that is left is to share the folder via “link” to Google Classroom.

From within your Google Drive right click the select from the drop down menu. A window titled “share with others” will open. On the top right click . A new window will open titled “Share with others” along with the new “link” highlighted in blue. Click now your lesson plans folder has the people icon on it and looks like:

To share this folder in Classroom, go to Google Classroom where the folder is to be shared. Make sure is the active window. Click on “share with your class” name the share Lesson Plans then click the icon and enter or paste your link. The link can be easily found by going to your drive and right clicking then selecting . copy\paste this link into the classroom “Enter or Paste link” field then click: presto, your done. Now anytime you create a new lesson plan, and upload into your lesson plans folder, (located in your google drive); administrators will be able to view your lesson plans by simply clicking on your link in Google Classroom.
