Large-scale public work of art “Tough Landscape” will display in Shanghai Art Fair

Shanghai Art Fair 2015 (19th), one of the most prestigious art trading events in Asia, will be held at Shanghai Mart (No.99 Xingyi Road) from November 12th to 15th this year, and will surely become the main focus of the China Shanghai International Art Festival this time.

Recently, the Organizing Committee of Shanghai Art Fair officially announces that in order to communicate with the public in a warm atmosphere, a large public work of art is invited.

The large public work of art “Tough Landscape” is about 22 meters long and 8 meters wide, planned by Shanghai Xibu culture commucation co., Ltd and created by GOA elephant design combined with Architecture college of Tongji University. The whole piece will be placed in the west side of the north gate in ShanghaiMart.

According to the introduction from the project curator Jabu, architecture is often understood as a set of open landscape in urban public space. The “Tough Landscape” is designed for the public space in city square. This time invited to display in Shanghai Art Fair is a exploration of creation. It is a art work and also carries a practical function in activity space.

“Tough Landscape” is made of bamboo steel materials, the two spaces waves are made by the 50 linear rods. And the creator put the mist spraying device hidden in the bamboo steel, the scene has further enhanced the work of art like a visual impression.

“Tough Landscape” is made of new environmental protection materials - bamboo steel. Bamboo is a very oriental plants. Su shi said: “rather eat no meat, can not live without bamboo”, the Chinese people have a long time bamboo love. Bamboo steel is made by fibrosis and other advanced technologies. It has robust features and giving people a sense of home.

Gu Zhihua, the deputy general secretary and office director of the Shanghai Art Fair organizing committee said that “Tough Landscape” will present a magnificent visual feast to the public and show the open spirit of the city. It will also spread the art concept of Shanghai Art Fair to the public.
