“BREAKING THE BULLYING CYCLE” RED CARPET COCKTAIL RECEPTION

LOS ANGELES, CA - DECEMBER 14, 2010 – On Tuesday, November 30th SFK-Success For Kids, Inc. and MyLife MyPower, Inc. presented "Breaking the Bullying Cycle” at the SLS Hotel in Beverly Hills. More than 300 guests gathered to take an active stand in providing a solution to the critical issue of violence and bullying faced by children in Los Angeles.
“Breaking the Bullying Cycle” was a red carpet cocktail reception to raise funds and awareness about the effects of bullying on children with proceeds from the event benefiting Success for Kids Los Angeles and MyLife MyPower. The event emceed by Marla Maples also included celebrity attendees Jeremy Piven, David Arquette,and Jason Ritter.
“Our children need us to take a stand against bullying now more than ever. Every day the SFK program directly affects bullying behavior by teaching children how to deal with life’s challenges in a positive way versus engaging in negative behavior toward their peers,” said Dr. Heath Grant, CEO, Global Education and Outreach, SFK, and Dwayne Ashley, CEO, Global operations in a joint statement.
Seven-year old MyLife MyPower PSA participant, Gabriele Eggerling, said, "It's good to ask for help if you are being bullied...but you can find the besthelp...right here...inside yourself. That is where the superhero is!"
Attendees of the event enjoyed a performance by Warner Brothers Records artist, Tyler Hilton, who performed “This World Will Turn Your Way,” from his EP “Ladies and Gentlemen”. Guests also participated in a silent auction and raffle, leaving the event with weekend getaway packages, luxury car rentals, celebrity signed memorabilia and more. Other items included a 2-hour private training with world famous poker player, Annie Duke and Manny Pacquiao autographed memorabilia among others.
