Release Title: Record attendance at Annual SEWP Conference celebrates the GWAC’s successes and plans for the future.

The Solutions for Enterprise-Wide Procurement (SEWP) Annual Conference enjoyed the best attendance in program history with 195 Attendees – more than 90 Federal Government registrants from 15 Federal Agencies including NASA, Department of Veterans Affairs and Department of Defense and over 80 Industry attendees. “We are pleased at the strong interest in our conference. It was a great opportunity to celebrate the successful first year of SEWP IV, provide and obtain information with our key customers and Contract Holders, and plan for the future.” said Joanne Woytek, the SEWP Program Manager. “SEWP enjoyed significant growth on the past year. This conference helps us to concentrate on providing a cost effective solution to Federal Agencies in the management and acquisition of IT Product Solutions”. Woytek added.

In addition to discussion of proper use of the SEWP contracts, in-depth information on on-line tools and information on plans for the coming year, the Conference included two keynote speakers: Skip Kemerer, the first Contracting Officer for SEWP and currently the Chief of the Capital Planning and Applications Support Branch at the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, who discussed the origins of SEWP and his vision of future paths for the Contracts from both a Government and Industry perspective; and Steve Charles, Executive Vice President and Co-Founder of ImmixGroup Inc., who discussed the key similarities and differences between SEWP and other Contract vehicles.

Other highlights of the conference included data showing significant growth in usage of the SEWP Contracts from FY06 to FY07 (over 25% increase); the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement between NASA and Department of Defense (DoD) on the usage of SEWP by DoD; continued strong interest in free on-line and on-site SEWP training; significant recent and planned updates to the SEWP Website and toolset.

The 2009 SEWP Conference is currently planned for Austin, Texas next April.
