Classroom Expectations
Seventh Grade AC Language Arts

Seventh Grade Reading

The following supplies will be needed for Language Arts:
- Pens (black or blue) and red for correcting
- Different color highlighters
- Pocketed three-ring binder (1 ½ “)
- Adequate supply of 8 ½ x 11 college-ruled loose-leaf paper
- Composition Journal with college-ruled paper (one per class)
- Dividers
- Colored pencils
- Flash drive
The three-ring binder will be set up as follows:
- Divider #1 -Keepers: Syllabus, classroom expectations sheet and certain notes.
- Divider #2 - Grammar: Grammar notes and all important grammar handouts.
- Divider #3 - Reading Strategies: Handouts and notes.
- Divider #4 -Vocabulary: Reading and Language Arts.
- Divider #5-Work in Progress/Reading
- Divider #6 - Work in Progress/Language Arts.
- Bring materials and completed homework to class daily.
- Make up any missed work. You are allowed one day to make up work for each day you are absent.
- Keep your vocabulary book and grammar workbook in good condition with no unnecessary markings.
- Put your name on all materials.
- When in a fog, check the blog!
- Absent Buddies! Find someone in your class to be your “absent buddy” who will be responsible for getting extra handouts for you when you are absent. Also, check the “Did I Miss Anything?” folders on the back bulletin board. I try to remember to put a copy with your name on it in the correct daily folder. BOTTOM LINE - YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR WHAT YOU MISS!!
- Obey the following class guidelines:
- Be on time to class.
- Find your assigned seat and begin work on the warm-up.
- Use planned restroom breaks except for emergencies.
- If you leave the room, youragenda is your pass, and I will initial your behavior card.
- Respect ideas and opinions of others.
- Do not talk when I am giving instructions. If your mouth is open, your ears are closed!
- Questions are encouraged, but please raise your hand first.
- At the end of class, please return classroom materials and pick up any trash in your area.
- Remain seated until I dismiss the class.
- Always have a book with you!
