Settlement services for humanitarian entrants in metropolitan Adelaide

ARA will provide settlement services over a three year period to all humanitarian entrants who have arrived in South Australia in the last five years, in particular to those from small and emerging communities as well as family stream migrants with low English proficiency. ARA will address issues of the target group through casework, referral and advocacy, improving access to mainstream services, group work including programs for male new arrivals, bicultural traineeships, a volunteer program, and community capacity building to build entrants self reliance and enable participation in the wider Australian community.

Description


The project aims to improve relationships between parents and children through a series of play, behaviour management and childhood development workshops.
