UW-Madison – Personalizing SIS & Setting DefaultsThese settings only need to be set and saved once.

Setting Student Information System (SIS) Defaults

These defaults will reduce keystrokes and increase your efficiency.

To set defaults, do the following:

1.  Log In To SIS.

2.  From your Main Menu, follow this menu path:
Set Up SACR >User Defaults

3.  On |User Defaults 1| tab:
Enter ‘UWMSN’ in Academic Institution, Career Group SetID, and Facility Group SetID.

4.  On |User Defaults 2| tab:
- Enter ‘UWMSN’ in Set ID and Institution Set.
- Enter ‘MAIN’ in Campus.
- Set any other desired field defaults:
Fin Aid users: Enter Aid Year you view most often - annually update each new aid year;
Admissions: Set Application Center, Recruiting Center, and Admit Type.

5.  On |User Defaults 4| tab, check R Carry ID.

6.  Click [Save].

Editing Your Email Address

Please keep your business email address up to date in SIS.
This is the primary address that SIS uses for email communication.


To edit your email address, do the following:

1.  Log In To SIS.

2.  From your Main Menu, click – My System Profile.

3.  Enter your …wisc.edu Email Address.

4.  Click [Save] on the General Profile Information page.

Personalizing SIS

1.  Log In To SIS.

2.  From your Main menu, click My Personalizations.

3.  Click Personalize Navigation Personalizations link.

4.  Change any Override Values that would be helpful to you.
e.g. Tab over Lookup , Tab over Calendar

5.  Click [OK] at the bottom of the Personalizations page.

6.  Click [Return] on Save Confirm page.
