How Great Is Our God

Words and Music by Chris Tomlin, Jesse Reeves, and Ed Cash, 2004

The splendor of the King, clothed in majesty
Let all the earth rejoice, all the earth rejoice
He wraps himself in light, and darkness tries to hide
And trembles at His voice, and trembles at His voice

(Chorus)
How great is our God, sing with me
How great is our God, and all will see
How great, how great is our God

Age to age He stands, and time is in His hands
Beginning and the End, Beginning and the End
The Godhead, Three in One, Father, Spirit, Son
The Lion and the Lamb, Lion and the Lamb

Chorus

(Bridge)

You’re the name above all names,

You are worthy of all praise
My heart will sing how great is our God

Chorus

Songs of Praise

Marvelous Grace

Words by Julia Johnston, 1849-1919; Music by Robert Turner, 2009

Marvelous grace of our loving Lord,
Grace that exceeds our sin and our guilt!
Yonder on Calvary’s mount outpoured,
There where the blood of the Lamb was spilled.

(Chorus)
Grace, grace, God’s grace,
Grace that will pardon and cleanse within;
Grace, grace, God’s grace,
Grace that is greater than all our sin.

Sin and despair, like the sea waves cold,
Threaten the soul with infinite loss;
Grace that is greater, yes, grace untold,
Points to the refuge, the mighty cross.

(Chorus)

Dark is the stain that we cannot hide.
What can we do to wash it away?
Look! There is flowing a crimson tide,
Brighter than snow you may be today.

(Chorus)

Marvelous, infinite, matchless grace,
Freely bestowed on all who believe!
You that are longing to see His face,
Will you this moment His grace receive?

(Chorus)

Be Thou My Vision

Words: Ancient Irish Hymn, Music: Traditional Irish Melody

Be Thou my vision, O Lord of my heart;
Naught be all else to me, save that Thou art
Thou my best thought, by day or by night,
Waking or sleeping, Thy presence my light.

Be Thou my wisdom, and Thou my true Word;
I ever with Thee and Thou with me, Lord;
Thou my great Father, and I Thy true son;
Thou in me dwelling, and I with Thee one.

Riches I heed not, nor man's empty praise,
Thou mine inheritance, now and always:
Thou and Thou only, first in my heart,
High king of heaven, my treasure Thou art.

High king of heaven, my victory won,
May I reach heaven's joys, O bright heaven's sun!
Heart of my own heart, whatever befall,
Still be my vision, O Ruler of All.

Responsive Reading Psalm 103:6-22

Leader: The Lord works righteousness and justice for all who are oppressed.

People: He made known His ways to Moses, His acts to the people of Israel.

Leader: The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.

People: He will not always chide, nor will He keep His anger forever.

Leader: He does not deal with us according to our sins, nor repay us according to our iniquities.

People: For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is His steadfast love toward those who fear Him;

Leader: As far as the east is from the west, so far does He remove our transgressions from us.

People: As a father shows compassion to his children, so the Lord shows compassion to those who fear Him.

Leader: For He knows our frame; He remembers that we are dust.

People: As for man, his days are like grass; he flourishes like a flower of the field;

Leader: For the wind passes over it, and it is gone, and its place knows it no more.

People: But the steadfast love of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear Him, and His righteousness to children's children,

Leader: To those who keep His covenant and remember to do His commandments.

People: The Lord has established His throne in the heavens, and His kingdom rules over all.

Leader: Bless the Lord, O you His angels, you mighty ones who do His word, obeying the voice of His word!

People: Bless the Lord, all His hosts, His ministers, who do His will!

All: Bless the Lord, all His works, in all places of His dominion. Bless the Lord, O my soul!

Assurance of Pardoning Grace Psalm 103:11-15

For as high as the heavens are above the earth,so great is His steadfast love toward those who fear Him;as far as the east is from the west,so far does He remove our transgressions from us.As a father shows compassion to his children,so the Lord shows compassion to those who fear Him.

It is Finished, Part II
(Hark the Voice of Love and Mercy)
Words by Jonathan Evans & Benjamin Francis, 1784, Music by Jeff Koonce, 2005

Hark! the voice of love and mercy sounds aloud from Calvary;
See, it rends the rocks asunder, shakes the earth, and veils the sky:

“It is finished!” “It is finished!” hear the dying Savior cry;
“It is finished!” “It is finished!” hear the dying Savior cry.

“It is finished!” O what pleasure, do these charming words afford;
Heav’nly blessings, without measure,flow to us from Christ the Lord:

“It is finished, It is finished!” saints the dying words record,

“It is finished, It is finished!” saints the dying words record.

Finished all the types and shadows of the ceremonial law;
Finished all that God had promised;

Death and hell no more shall awe:

“It is finished, It is finished!” saints, from hence your comfort draw;
“It is finished, It is finished!” saints, from hence your comfort draw;

Tune your harps anew, ye seraphs, join to sing the pleasing theme;
Saints on earth, and all in heaven, join to praise Emmanuel’s Name;

Hallelujah! Hallelujah!Glory to the bleeding Lamb!

Hallelujah! Hallelujah!Glory to the bleeding Lamb!

Prayer for Offering

Song of Offering/Thanksgiving

How Sweet the Name of Jesus Sounds
Words by John Newton; Music by Alexander Reinagle

How sweet the name of Jesus sounds
In a believer's ear!
It soothes his sorrow, heals his wounds,
And drives away his fear.

It makes the wounded spirit whole,
And calms the troubled breast;
'Tis manna to the hungry soul,
And to the weary, rest.

Dear Name, the rock on which I build,
My shield and hiding place,
My never failing treasury, filled
With boundless stores of grace!

Weak is the effort of my heart,
And cold my warmest thought;
But when I see Thee as Thou art,
I'll praise Thee as I ought.

Jesus, my Shepherd, Brother, Friend,
My Prophet, Priest, and King,
My Lord, my life, my way, my end,
Accept the praise I bring.

A Mighty Fortress is Our God

Words & Music by Martin Luther, 1529

A mighty fortress is our God, a bulwark never failing;
Our helper He, amid the flood of mortal ills prevailing:
For still our ancient foe doth seek to work us woe;
His craft and power are great, and, armed with cruel hate,
On earth is not his equal.
Did we in our own strength confide, our striving would be losing;
Were not the right Man on our side, t

The Man of God’s own choosing:
Dost ask who that may be? Christ Jesus, it is He;
Lord Sabbath, His Name, from age to age the same,
And He must win the battle.
And though this world, with devils filled,

Should threaten to undo us,
We will not fear, for God hath willed

His truth to triumph through us:
The Prince of Darkness grim, we tremble not for him;
His rage we can endure, for lo, his doom is sure,
One little word shall fell him.
That word above all earthly powers, no thanks to them, abideth;
The Spirit and the gifts are ours through Him Who with us sideth:
Let goods and kindred go, this mortal life also;
The body they may kill: God’s truth abideth still,
His kingdom is forever.
