Session 4: Education & Youth Development

Thursday, January 12, 2017

Education in the Commonwealth and in Worcester is about more than stuffing information into kid’s heads. It is a marathon effort to engage them in learning, to develop thinking and problem solving skills and to prepare them for productive citizenship and success after high school. Our schools also complement the direct work of economic development and serve as a part of our collective effort to attract, maintain, and cultivate a middle class in our city. This session will prepare you with a clear overview of the Worcester Public Schools and offer a sense of the challenges and opportunities facing this typical urban school district.
