Congregational Announcements

“CHRIST IN THE PASSOVER” Comes to Ocheyedan – Missionary Eli Birnbaum will be recreating the traditional Jewish Passover service before our very eyes this coming Tuesday evening, April 11 at 7:30 pm. He will explain how the parts of the service foreshadowed Jesus’ death and resurrection. Items traditionally used at the Passover will be highlighted and their spiritual significance explained. Christians who have attended a “Christ in the Passover” presentation have remarked that it has opened up a whole new appreciation for the celebration of the Lord’s Supper. You won’t want to miss this most inspiring presentation. A free-will offering will be received for the ministry of Jews for Jesus at this event.

Maundy Thursday Worship Service– The Elders call the congregation to a special service of worship on Maundy Thursday evening, Thursday, April 13, 2017 at 7:00 pm. We look forward to celebrating the Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper, hearing God’s Word on the Gethsemane sufferings of Jesus, and walking with Jesus through the Shadows of Suffering in this special Service.

Son-Rise Service at the Mound– As a special part of our celebration of Jesus’ victory over death –and our victory, too, in Him- we will be gathering once again at the mound on Resurrection Sunday Morning, Sunday, April 16, 2017 at 7:00 am for a service of remembrance, singing, and sharing. Please join us for this informal testimony to the power of Jesus’ resurrection around the fire as we sip hot chocolate and rejoice in His victory that confirms our own victory over death!

ALL VOLUNTEERS- VOLUNTEER LUNCHEON- Sibley Specialty Care presents “Restore, Renew, Revive, Reclaim and Redeem” on Thursday April 27 at 2:00 p.m. -Join us for a celebration in honor of your hard work and time you have devoted to being a volunteer at our facility. We greatly appreciate all that you do; we could not do it without you! Please stop by and be recognized. It will be an afternoon of fun, food, and learning about how the ladies from Mae B’s in Hartley get their ideas and inspiration to “reinvent, reimagine, rethink, refresh, reuse, redesign, recreate, refurbish and, most importantly, recycle ‘junk’ to make something even more better and beautiful than it may have been before.” Thank you again volunteers for all you do.

Professions of Faith– This past Sunday morning, March 26, 2017 Abigail Mulder, Christina Galvin and Stacie Vellema met with the Council to request permission to publicly profess or re-affirm their faith in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. After examining the professions of each of the young women the Council unanimously granted their request. The Council commends these sisters in the Lord to the congregation. We anticipate hearing the public profession of faith of Christina Galvin with baptism and the reaffirmation of faith of Stacie Vellema on Resurrection Sunday morning, April 16 in our morning service of worship. We look forward to hearing the profession of faith of Abigail Mulder, D.V., on Sunday, May 14
