SERVICES TO PARTICIPANTS

The meeting venue is at the Quality Hotel Friends in Solna, a short distance from the Stockholm City centre:

A variety of services will be available within or around the meeting venue. These will include restaurants and cafeterias. Adjacent to the conference centre the Mall of Scandinavia provides all sorts of service (http://mallofscandinavia.se/en/homepage).

First Aid: Emergency first aid will be available throughout the duration of the meeting.

Laptops for loan: It is recommended to bring your own laptop as the number of laptops for loan is limited.

Internet access: Free wireless internet access is available in all conference and meeting rooms and in the public areas of the Quality Hotel Friends.

Restaurants/Catering Services: Lunch boxes will be available at the venue as a courtesy by the Swedish government.
Dinner may be obtained at the hotel restaurants. Other cafes, restaurants and shops are within short walking distance of the Quality Hotel Friends.

Banking facilities: Banking services are available inside the Mall of Scandinavia.

TRANSPORTATION AND SECURITY

Once in Stockholm, the conference centre is easily accessible. The international airport (Stockholm Arlanda) is about 35 kilometres from the conference centre, a journey of approximately 30 minutes by taxi or train. The Stockholm Central station (Stockholm City) is 8 kilometres from the conference centre and the two are linked by commuter train, buses and taxi.

The venue can easily be reached by the commuter train from Stockholm City to Solna train station (7 minutes) or by taking bus number 515 from Stockholm Odenplan to Solna train station.

Although Stockholm is a comparatively safe place and violent crime is rare, the incidence of pickpocketing and theft are not uncommon. Participants are advised to pay particular attention at the airport and around the Stockholm City railway station, and to not leave their luggage unattended at any time.

Participants are responsible for making their own accommodation arrangements in advance of the meeting and for covering any associated incurred costs.

There are numerous hotels available in Stockholm City as well. The commuter train is 7 minutes to the venue from Stockholm City Station.

CURRENCY AND RATE OF EXCHANGE

Swedish Krona (SEK). Average exchange rates: 1 US$ ~ 9 SEK. 1 Euro ~ 10 SEK (rates as of December 2017). Major credit cards are widely accepted in hotels, stores and restaurants in Sweden.

ELECTRICITY

Participants are kindly requested to bring their own power adaptors.

In Sweden the power sockets are of type F. The standard voltage is 230 V and the frequency is 50 Hz.
