JOB PURPOSE: To support the effective and efficient running of the Café @ The Harris Centre Preston

RESPONSIBLE TO: Bean Good Assistant Coffee Shop Manager

RESPONSIBLE FOR: None

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Required to process payment and cash handling processes within the café
  2. Keep accurate time sheets and reporting sickness a minimum of 2 hours prior to shift
  3. To be an active and supportive team member, contributing in a constructive manner and treating allteam members and customers with fairness and courtesy.
  4. To work in a way that is consistent with the companies values and vision, including active participation in largeevents as required
  5. To provide excellent customer service, serving customers promptly, courteously and with a smile.
  6. To fully comply with all Health and Safety and Food Hygiene regulations at all times.

Responsible for maintaining cleaning and temperature records in line with Food Hygiene regulations

To ensure all tables are continuously cleared and clean away to ensure high standards of customer service are maintained

Responsible for the washing up and emptying of bins in line with food hygiene standards

To maintain a clean and tidy environment at all times in the café and preparation areas including washing up.

To assist in the set-up, set down and cleaning of the café and kitchen according to procedure on a daily basis and as required.

  1. Ensuring that food and drink served to customers is of a consistently high standard and is well presented includingBarista Coffee
  2. To develop knowledge of products and share that knowledge with customers and other teammembers in a confident manner.
  3. Inform manager of low stock levels and ensure coffee shop is adequately stocked during service
  4. To Ensure that the café environment is pleasant and welcoming in line with the image agreed by the co-ordinator/manager
  5. To take responsibility for reporting maintenance issues to the Café Manager
  6. To Ensure that any risk assessments are complied with maintaining such records as are required by the Café Manager
  7. To work with the Café Manager in promoting the café services, contributing to new ideas and supporting new business
  8. To actively promote the wider Harris Museum and Art Gallery in a positive way
  9. To serve alcohol in line with licencing laws reporting to the manager
  10. To work outside normal office hours as necessary to undertake the duties of the post
  11. To undertake such other duties as may be required to fulfil the job purpose
